Review Time
The Vienna Pass was an excellent solution for me who want to fully enjoy the attractions of Vienna. The card offers free entry to over 90 places, including landmarks such as Schönbrunn Palace. It gave me access to selected sites without having to worry about buying individual tickets or standing in long lines – which, honestly, saved me a ton of time. I also loved the hop-on hop-off bus option because it made getting around the city so much easier. While the price of the pass seemed a bit steep at first, by the end of my trip, I knew it was worth every euro. It made my time in Vienna not only more efficient but way more enjoyable. I used 72h ticket for public transport extra paid but with discount attached to the Pass.
It was as the website described it to be. You just have to show your qr code at the ticket office (sometimes you can directly skip the line) and it's all done. Be careful though that the visit (included with the vienna pass) to Schönbrunn palace is very short. You have to pay a full Ticket if you want to see more. This was the only downside to me.
The pass worked, and grants you access to many important attractions. However, it is roughly as expensive as the attractions itself would have been. I would recommend planning your visit carefully, and the checking whether it actually makes sense to use the pass.
First of all, the list of attractions that were included does not mention that visiting Schonbrunn Palace means seeing only 5 rooms and if you want the whole tour you have to pay an additional 10 euro/pers - as we found out when trying to enter there. Also, I think you should reconsider the validity for this pass. I don't think is that hard to try and make it valid when you make your first visit and the expiration time should be either 24h, 48h or 72h from the time of your first visit.
1. The pass only gave quite limited access to Schoenbrun, which was not communicated in advance.2. Shoenbrun, Hofburg and many other sights actually requested to go and obtain paper tickets, including staying on line for them, which was time consuming and burdensome.
