For a two day passs I think we got insuficient information. All the places we went covered a basic tour. The hop-on-hop-off busses were horrible: no clear schedule, not OK w/ regards to air conditioning.Overall I hope we got what we payed for it but I think we paid more.If posssible deliver the pass to the hotel... the personell at the pickup place was unhelpfull... it was like we disturbed them from doing... NOTHING!!Also - almost no info in English, over all in Viena, this website for review is also a proof... no English version.
The vienapass made visiting Vienna and all of its cultural offer very easy, and the fact that it has an office to costumer support with people to help you right in the center of Vienna (in front of the Vienna Opera) is very good. With the smartphone ticket (qr code) that you can keep in your fotos and just show that in every place saying you have Vienapass and your in, in every place. The only place where they asked us for money (8€ per person) was in the Butterfly place...
Vienna pass is a flexible way to see many sights and public spaces of the city! However, to make it worth the price you need to visit at least 3 places each day, which becomes a little challenging since most galleries and museums close at around 5. Planning ahead is definitely a must if you're getting the pass.
The Vienna Pass 7 days is good value for money spent provided you are of good health and mobility to get around to all the included features in 7 days . The Hop On Hop Off bus is less than user friendly , on 2 separate days we had an advertised stop bypassed by the driver , which left many people irate , us included ! The stop at Cobenzyl was bypassed because there wasn't enough room ???? Buses stop and pick up & drop off every 15mins , the driver stopped & picked up 2 people , but wouldn't let anyone else off - there were a dozen people wanting to get off . When questioned the driver replied in German , which is great when most tourists don't speak German .We found the tram system easier to use and they stopped everywhere they said they would . There's a lot to do & see in Vienna and you will be on the go to get them all done , so maybe not so many choices and less cost may be a better choice .
Dislikes/Disorganization1. The Opera stop is chaotic: too many sellers aggressively selling the Hop-On-Hop-Off service to tourists. 2. Confusing service. The advertisement said we can skip lines but at popular museums like Sisi Museum, we still had to line up. 3. Unclear, confusing service. For the river cruise, it wasn’t stated that we had to reserve ONLINE beforehand. Grrrrr. 4. The website should have an automatic ENGLISH translation. Duh! More tourists speak English than German. English is the common language. 5. I’ve seen Hop-on-hop-off bus drivers who didn’t stop at designated stops (Opera), follow bus route, and rudely answer questions by lost tourists. They seem to hate their customers.
