Review Time
Despite not being able to use my voucher (for reasons completely outside of Virgin Balloon control i.e. bad weather!!), the way they dealt with all my questions and guiding me though the options etc. was excellent. I would have no problem recommending them to anyone who is interested experiencing a balloon flight :)
Could not fault the experience Purchased for my wife's 60th Birthday Must admit I was very apprehensive when she first mentioned hot air balloon flight.Today 8th September the time came travelled to Ashton Court Estate, Bristol Met the team and (Nobby) the pilot top bloke who made everyone feel welcome , everyone who was with us on the flight joined in with experience from start to finish.Myself I am not a fan of heights but being in the basket makes you feel quite safe, my wife was over the moon with the virgin balloon flight and writing this review myself I have to strongly agree the views from the air are superb, I cannot recommend this enough.Pilot to ground crew awesome If you wish to see things differently - be brave take that flight Luckily weather was great for us A very well done indeed to the team and Virgin balloons
I was one of the lucky ones who had only had it cancelled once due to strong wind conditions, but you totally understand that it's for your safety. It is a 'once in a lifetime' experience you'll never forget. Our pilot Damon was very knowledgeable and funny and I met some lovely people on my flight. It's very surreal being up 3000 feet and some fantastic views over Kent. From up there you can see why it's called the 'garden of England'. Once we had landed, we were given a great recommendation for breakfast. A truly lovely day that I'll always remember.
Avoid... Purchased voucher Feb 2023 and still trying to get a flight. Constant cancellation.. Even paid extra to extend the ticket last year as it was due to expire. Customer services will not entertain the idea of refund or extension. Tried the complaints process as advised by customer service but 2 weeks later and nil response. This was for an 18th present for my daughter, who is now coming up for 21.. Awful customer services from a company I would have expected to be second to none.
5 years and I've lost count of the number of cancellations. Don't buy these if you want to fly in the PM. Being a private company, these people don't have to tell you what proportion of PM flights actually go ahead but, from my experience, it seems likely its less than 5%. It took three house moves, a life changing injury and a fatal illness diagnosis before we were offered the value of tickets paid 5 years prior to use against other experiences which are now 70% more expensive thanks to inflation. The company isn't even good enough to offer you an experience of equal value despite holding the cash for the last half decade. If we'd been offered this 3 years ago when we first asked, we might not have suffered such degradation in value and would be able to take an experience worth going on
