Review Time
We were 'third time lucky' with our booking..having had to rebook twice because of poor weather...but WOW, was it worth waiting for! We were surprised (but delighted) to be asked by our pilot, Russell, to get involved with the inflating (and later deflating/packing away) the balloon. This is optional of course but we're both fit enough to be able to do it and it added to the experience for us. The flight itself was beautiful, in the early morning sun..and as luck and 'thermals' would have it, we drifted towards our house, landing just a field away. Highly recommended!
Had a great experience in the Virgin balloon ride with my friend, we went from Tissington going over Dove Dale. It was great fun helping set the balloon up and disassembling it. Our Pilot Tom Cook was very knowledgeable and his ground team were great. I really had a great time & would highly recommend it
Hot Air Balloon trip booked for my mums 90th last year and after 4 unsuccessful attempts due to the weather asked for an exchange as she had fallen and was now more frail and not confident she could do it. Initially told no without medical evidence to support it being cancelled but her docs wanted to charge £40 for that! After asking politely they agreed to give her vouchers to the full value to use on another experience(s).
Had a great flight pm from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire. Flew for about 45 minutes, covering about 5 miles. The whole experience took about 3 hours, including the inflation and deflation of the balloon. It's a hands on experience, so be prepared to get physical and help unpack and stow the equipment, but it all adds to the experience. Great pilot and guide, very friendly and patient, which I guess piloting a wind-propelled vehicle teaches you. We flew about 300 feet up, allowing for good views and close ups of down below. A stunning trip to tick off the bucket list. Shared the balloon with a great crowd and had a welcomed drink afterwards. After trying to book the experience about 5 times before hand, I was surprised to hear this flight was actually on. When you get go ahead, you get those butterflies, hot footing it over to the launch site. Take off is still not guaranteed at that point, so it may still get cancelled at this 11th hour, so be prepared to go home disappointed, but rest assured the team will get you up if conditions allow. Had a great trip which I would defo do again if the opportunity presents. Looking forward to my next experience. Thanks team.
