This was my third attempt at the SCS exam. I was enrolled in the FLP programme in the first 2 attempts so I decided to go with Viva the 3rd one and I passed.I want to thank the team at Viva for all the work they do. The value for money is remarkable. The case study analysis done by Laura was perfect, easy to follow and made me feel ready for the exam. Also, the advice on how to structure the answers in the exam was on point. I definietly recommend the course for anyone preparing for a CIMA case study exam.
Very good platform in terms of easy of use and navigation, good tools such as speeding up recordings when recapping and a progress bar to show how I'm getting through the content. My one critique would be that the mock exam answers aren't structured in a way that makes them easy to read or to extract points out of them. This makes it more time consuming when trying to marry up with my own answers. I would find it much more advantageous to see the use of subheadings in these answers.
Laura as tutor on SCS for live sessions was fantastic. Her knowledge was excellent and very motivating from start to finish. I was quite disappointed with some of the Viva materials on the course. The mocks in particular. Mocks issued by Viva were questions from previous SCS CIMA exam sittings. This makes sense from an exam standard point of view, but as they were based off of previous exams with different preseen, the mocks/solutions missed the mark on some of the understanding of the preseen and industry. The mocks did not touch on key issues in the preseen that would be seen as highly likely to be tested and had topics that I felt was very unlikely to appear for the exam sitting based on the preseen.Additionally, the SCS Elite course was advertised as 4 mocks, however there was only 3 for submission and feedback. When this was pointed out by a student on the course, mock 4 was noted as an error and there was only 3 on the course. On Monday before the exam sittings began the Wednesday, there was a bonus mock issued to all students with no solutions. This was quite overwhelming to be given more exam questions with no solutions so close to the exam, and raised nerves among the student group.
I used Viva’s MCS course to prepare for my resit after failing with 74 points. I passed with a score of 98! The course has everything you need and the detailed debriefs applied to pre-seen material were amazing. I will be buying the SCS pack without a doubt!
I joined the SCS Elite Course in July after failing the exam on my first attempt.The course was absolutely great and Laura is a great tutor.I certainly feel that the Elite Course proved to be the deciding factor in me passing the exam second time around!Thanks again to everyone at VIVA!
