I’ve fallen victim to Wowcher’s Spotify premium scam. Voucher code arrived and I followed all the instructions to the letter and was able to use Spotify for a couple of days but the account has now been cancelled, no longer recognises my details and has scammed me out of £35.99. Googling the problem reveals countless other people who have been ripped off. I have written to the voucher supplier who have not even acknowledged my complaint. A full refund please Wowcher. I await your swift response.I have provided my order number number details. What more info do you need? Other than it does not work? I am simply seeking a full refund
My gosh!! A week off stress, thankfully only that but I’ll tell 1 week felt like weeks..I paid for 3 x mattress encasements in one order. Money went through via PayPal and with authorisation by me. 10 minutes later more money was taken, a second payment of a smaller amount. I heard the sound of money leaving my bank account app. I immediately started tracing it up as best I could. Contacted Wowcher via WhatsApp and email as the number they provide is not actually customer services but a dead line with prerecorded nonsense. Then I went onto the app and it showed I had purchased Voucher Validity Extension. Now this is where they tried me, I did not and never could they try and put it on me that I purchased this. First of all I just ordered the damn thing why would I extend the date of it if it’s of a product not a service like a hotel booking, holiday etc?? Anyway so I wrote them saying you took money without my consent and it’s stealing because I authorised the first payment not the second so that’s stealing!! Actually I didn’t say that at first I said it nicely because I was thinking I’d still redeem for the mattress covers but they need to refund the second payment. No reply, no reply and then a chatbot message not even addressing the issue. It was long so I opened a dispute with PayPal. When wowcher did eventually reply they kept saying the same stuff till I went down hard. I then decided to refund it all and was not budging. PayPal fast tracked the dispute to I think 3 days instead of the usual length of a dispute and in that time I provided screenshots and evidence as additional information. It really bothered me because although the amount was like £32 they were trying to rob me of £5 for basically an email in exchange and most importantly without my approval, acknowledgment!! They then start replying directly still with nonsense just reminding me of what I bought AND OF THE EXTENSION which I did NOT but saying I did! Then I told them basically whatever PayPal will sort. THEN I get somewhat of a bit more personalised reply addressing me correctly and a little less chatbot like. They then acknowledge my withdrawal form and say great news you will be refunded BUT not for the VVE as it’s non-refundable. So I give it them and call them a thief and tell them they stole from me and lastly whatever PayPal have all my evidence and proof and screenshots and multiple additional statements that I provided with basic common sense into why I just would not purchase VVE for mattress COVERS which if you plan to buy and actually pay for these kind of items you would intend for quick delivery not like they need storing, preparing for or even need 3 months to order after already paying for them. They responded with, great news we will refund you for the VVE as well!If reading this you can imagine how long all my additional notes provided to PayPal was which would have ended up giving them enough to close in my favour. Wowcher refunded me before it got any further. It’s only been a week of this for me but Honestly what’s really frustrating and I feel sorry for a lot of people because of this is that they just have their money taken and most not all give no consent I first hand can say that it just happened. I said no and ticked no to every bit they tried to sell to me at the end but they still took my money. Small amounts don’t always get noticed I wouldn’t have had definitely not especially if you order and go about your day but at the time I made the order it was in the evening in my time whilst I was fully focused. First time customer and blooming believe NEVER AGAIN!!1 week felt like months of just repeating back and forth of Wowcher saying ‘looks like you bought this..’ to me saying ‘no I did not’
I purchased in good faith a Spotify offer. I thought it was with the company but turned out to be some scam from India but I had payed my money by the time I found out. It stopped working after 4 days. I contacted the seller who said it was Spotify problem - Spotify said not but as I hadn’t bought through them wouldn’t help. Wowcher have been silent for the last 48 hours. I am shocked at such a company selling third hand dodgy deals leaving customers upset and out of pocket. Do they not check the deals are legitimate? 25/11/25 update. Company offered another dodgy deal I don’t trust (even want my password). I keep asking for a refund. And asking…..
When you buy something they don't tell you , you need to pay extra for delivery it has cost me £7 extra to have the items delivered after I paid more than £27 for the items in the first place . Double check you are even getting a deal because after the postage extra they are no cheaper than anywhere else
