In June I purchased a pack of 5 bare rooted fruit trees. I planted the trees and after several weeks, two of the trees showed no sign of life. On Googling this issue, it stated that it is common for bare rooted trees to not show any signs of life for several months, until the roots are established. After 3 months, it became clear that the two trees were dead. I emailed Wowcher and received a reply stating that they could not help as you have to report any issues with the product within 14 days! Bare rooted trees are effectively sticks. How is the customer expected to know there are problems when it can take in excess of 6 weeks for the trees to show signs of life!It is obvious to me they have no clue what they’re doing in respect of selling live (or dead) plants and perhaps should stick to selling cheap jumpers.Avoid deals of this type.
BEWARE!!! Do not get tangled up with this company. If you do, only use a credit card so you have more of a chance to get your money back. If you slip up and make a mistake with their complicated process you can loose a lot of money and be involved in a Complete Nightmare process of chatbot, WhatsApp and email messages that will get you nowhere. You cannot speak to a person but just get automated responses explaining their ‘system’ over and over again. Their process is- you buy and pay for the goods, you get bombarded with email offers plus an email about how to ‘redeem’ your purchase, you have an order number and a ‘voucher code’ you have to contact the merchant who supplies the item you thought you had bought and give them your bank payment details all over again ( which is very worrying), you supply what you think is your voucher code, if you make a mistake at this point you are done for!!! Once you realise something is wrong and your purchase has not turned up (in my case a garden bench) the goods you want to buy are no longer available. You are told you are being generously given credit to buy other items. There’s nothing g you want or really like the look of but you plump for something to use the credit, you have to tick the ‘use my credit box’,(by the way, only some of their items have this use my credit box). In my case I did not receive an email containing the ‘voucher code’ to go to the merchant to redeem these other items but I had to pay for them when I selected them!!! You wonder what’s going wrong. The items you selected ( but didn’t really want) are, again, no longer available, You are now owed even more money and have received nothing. Please, please do not enter into this Nightmare of an arrangement with this company. It might work for some people but for me it has just been a complete rip off.I have explained I am older, a stressed career and have failing eyesight (macular degeneration) but none of these vulnerabilities count with them.
Utter disgrace. I booked Wowcher mystery holiday for my sisters birthday at cost of £200.After the company trying to charge more for airports not in London and not honoring offered dates, and months of back and forth I finally settled on dates as Wowcher did nothing to help. I was totally helpless and was stressed I’d lose the money so rearranged my holiday dates.I went to book it then and was told by the vendor WEEKENDER BREAKS that they no longer deal with Wowcher so no trip can be given and they won’t be doing it. I have messaged Wowcher with no reply and am not in a position to lose that kind of money. They have made no attempt to help me and I don’t know what to do.I can see online that Wowcher did have to refund a lot of money in 2024 for unethical practices - I wish I’d known.I will have to take this further, I can’t afford that loss and do not understand why a company would do its best to trick paying customers instead of helping.
Bought the mystery holiday experience in 2024 December for my wife for Christmas, still to this day I’ve never received this holiday. Spent £179 on two of these and it’s just been a massive joke. Wowcher is a joke. I’ll post every day and review every day.
