Outside Royal Observatory bought a latte. Small cup not filled to the top and then mostly foam. Hardly a drink!Pumpkin cake had a pecan/sugar topping which was extra, extra sweet and cake under topping, dry. Very expensive for poor quality!!
Whilst I really appreciate getting a coffee in the heart of Greenwich Park at the Pavilion Cafe, and have been doing so for around five years since the pandemic, the service has been chronically poor. This is both during quiet periods mid-week and even more so at the weekend. It is noticeable that the staff generally seem unaware of customer needs, getting orders mixed up and also taking a very long time. They come across as being untrained and disinterested in providing a quality service, which you would expect from the premier cafe in the park. I suspect that the manager on duty has their hands tied and have to manage with what resource they have at the time. Suggestions would be: ensure that there is enough resource to meet demand, (waiting over ten minutes for a coffee is unacceptable) and to ensure that young staff go through some serious customer training. Hopefully we’ll see some improvements in the near future.
Our running group regularly visit the Pavilion Cafe in Greenwich Park - which is run by Benugo - after our session on a Saturday morning. The service never fails to be absolutely abysmal. I have no complaints about the quality of the food but the service is disorganised and so SLOW. It's never the same people from week to week and it doesn't seem to matter if there are plenty of staff (which is rare) or very few staff - getting a simple coffee takes forever. This is not helped by the lack of any clear signage about where to order or collect your order which means that people hover about not really knowing where to stand - a few signs doesn't seem too much to ask. I cannot tell you how unhappy our whole group is about this and we would gladly take our business elsewhere if there was anywhere else to go. And now Benugo are running the Sancho cafe also in Greenwich Park with the same issues. This one has a separate window for takeaways, which seems to make no difference to the snail's pace of the service. And of course there are never sufficient staff. Both cafes are in attractive buildings in brilliant locations so I can't understand how Benugo continues to have the franchise when the obviously don't hire or train good staff, or manage them well. Very frustrating.
A Disappointing Experience at Benugo, King’s Cross InternationalDuring a recent visit to King’s Cross International, I was thoroughly let down by my experience at Benugo near Platform 11. My partner and I, heading to Margate for the weekend, decided to enjoy breakfast at what appeared to be a well-presented and modern café. Unfortunately, Benugo’s service and hygiene practices left much to be desired. We ordered two sausage bagels, two coffees, and a sausage roll. The first disappointment came with the coffee. Both drinks were poorly made—mine was overly bitter and lukewarm, while my partner’s was weak and watery. When we politely mentioned this to a member of staff, their response was dismissive and borderline rude, leaving us feeling unwelcome. The staff’s arrogance further soured what should have been a simple and enjoyable meal.As we attempted to overlook the coffee issue and enjoy our food, I noticed a staff member at Benugo handling sandwiches behind the counter. While wearing blue catering gloves, she repeatedly ran her hands through her long, loose hair, which was not tied back, and then continued handling food without changing gloves. She retrieved trays of sandwiches from behind the counter and cleared tables, all while touching her hair and discarding waste, yet she never replaced her gloves. This concerning behavior wasn’t an isolated incident—another staff member with similarly loose hair was also working behind the counter under the same lax standards. Such practices raised serious concerns about Benugo’s commitment to food safety and hygiene.Overall, this experience at Benugo was deeply disappointing. Despite its polished appearance, the café failed to deliver on both service and quality. The arrogant attitude of the staff, poorly made coffee, and unacceptable hygiene practices made it clear that the establishment prioritizes style over substance.I will not be returning to Benugo at King’s Cross International and strongly urge management to address these issues. Customers deserve not just a visually appealing environment but also respect, professionalism, and basic hygiene in their dining experience. Shame on you Benugo!!
Went regent's park large restaurant on Sunday 2pm, pretty busy time. We were having late lunch. Sit down, coffee n beer, sandwich n chips... and fun chat. Then the waiter boy came to clear our table all sudden!! We were still eating, food was still on the plates. Still beer and coffee was left.. i dont get why he though we finish... he didn't even give us apologies. Looked very blunt, no smiles. He could be tired, bu we don't care, what was that customer service?? So rude!! We spent 30pounds for all, then that attitude. The waiter ruined all our fun sunday! Seriously i can not believe they let him to work there.
Sabir served us in Peter jones/John lewis in the kings road. Genuine friendliness is hard to come by but Sabir was just that. When I stopped by with my hands full, juggling my coffee order and a baby, Sabir didn’t just make me a great cup of coffee; he noticed the situation and personally brought it to my table. That simple gesture made all the difference. The coffee itself was fantastic.
This was at St Pancras Station. Ordered 2 coffees and 2 scones prior to catching train. Cost nearly £16. I asked the server if butter and knife were included, she said 'yes'. Got on the train only to find they were not in the bag. Too late to do anything about it. Worse still, the scone was hard and dry. For the price I expected much better. Complained TWICE to Benugo on-line, asking for a response. No response to either. Obviously no-one's bothered about what the customer thinks. All about the money.
Went to regents park benugo on Friday. Ordered dinner for my daughter and myself. My meal came up and after asking for nearly half an hour was told they had no chicken for the Caesar salad that we were waiting for. No apology given, no updates given in that half hour. Was just ignored by staff or told the food was on its way. Got my money back for the salad. Overpriced, rude staff, even got in contact on X and still no response after 2 days. Not rushing to go back, overpriced food and awful service.
