Review Time
First time that I have ever Published a book, I have been trying to publish for a long time. Finally I have made the move to do so, I have contacted a few different Publishers. Xlibris never gave up on me, ever so often Xlibris would contact me to see if I was ready whereas everyone else stopped or simply gave up. Everything went smooth & effortless, the only thing that slowed us down was the Covid-19 Pandemic, but even with that things went well. I have a few more books which I will Publish in the near future, I will ask Xlibris to Publish them as well. My experience with Xlibris was great, straight forward & most helpful with all my inquiries. I would recommend Xlibris to anyone for their first time around in Publishing a book
My experience here at Xlibris is once in a life for me because I will never be writing my first book again. I was in a space where I just had to act and put my material into play but even in my haste the team here, Starting w Amy Davila, were professionals through and through with their handling me. I’m grateful for this opportunity and still have things I I gave to wait on to really speak on the entirety of our dealings but on experience alone I’m honor to have been able to work so smoothly. Thank you.
The Xlibris team walked me through the exciting and terrifying steps of publishing. With their patient and professional guidance, I produced a product I am incredibly proud to share. They respond quickly to questions and work with the author’s visions. I felt completely supported from the beginning to the end. And even now, the team is still there to help with any outlying questions.
I was looking for the best option for self-publishing my first children's book.Despite seeing some bad reviews, I still went with Xlibris.I received a "discount" on one of their packages, I paid for this, and we started the process. As soon as they received my payment, the harassment started. I received up to 60 phone calls a day from their salespeople, aka "my marketing manager" (I have missed call logs saved). I stipulated the time I was available to talk due to a full-time job. The initial package claimed to have everything I needed. However, I then needed a returnability programme, marketing plan, fees for this and fees for that. The items such as bookmarks, cards, author copies of books took the longest to arrive. They do zero marketing of your book aside from listing it on various websites. The book went to print but had grammatical errors that they told me would be dealt with by an editor before printing. I purchased 200 copies of my book, so I know they are making plenty of money. I have sold most of my copies myself, with no help from them. They have sold six books in 12 months. These are all referrals I have sent to their website. Unless you have $20,000 to spend, stay clear. Xlibris is not a self-publishing company. This is a ripoff company. I have had to block their numbers to stop the phone calling non-stop, trying to get me to buy into some new marketing scheme that they don't follow through on.
I published years ago and I had high hopes for my two books. I paid a ton of money for my already published books and I got one royalty check less than 2.00. I would understand it if the books were crap, but they are still doing well. I tried to order my book to see what my readers are telling me. It will cost me, the author, 51.0 to order town book. These are salesmen. Quite convincing I might add. But they are awful people who suck the life out of new authors. After receiving so little money I stuck my head in the sand. But my books are now doing so well without these vampires. Please don’t fall for this scam and please don’t give up.
Recently I had a wonderful surprise from Xlibris.Firstly, a telphone call from Tony who shared with me a new way to promote and sell my book, which did not include paying for another service, rather explained a workable way to take the initiative through direct selling. He had read information on my account regarding what I had purchased. He was able to provide me with more copies of my book to help me with this new option. The books arrived within twelve days, which demonstrated his and Exlibris' diligence and genuine desire to support me and help my project succeed. Thankyou Tony Adams and Xlibris, god Bless you, Kind regards, Leah Kats
