Review Time
I was not responded to in a timely manner whenever I contacted my representatives and left multiple messages with no response. I was disrespected by some of the staff. Managers never returned my calls when I tried to communicate the issues that I was experiencing. I did not have these issues when I had Xlibris contracted on my first book. I am very disgusted with this experience.
HI, GAIL BOWLING HERE. I JUST PUBLISHED MY 1ST BOOK WITH XLIBRIS PUBLISHING & COULDN'T HAVE HAD A BETTER EXPERIENCE! EVERYONE I WORKED WITH WAS EFFICIENT, HELPFUL, PATIENT & KIND. MY "GO TO PERSON", CECIL, ALWAYS WENT THE XTRA MILE TO ANSWER MY QUESTIONS & CONCERNS & EVEN HELPED WITH CONTENT AT TIMES I WAS UNSURE OF WHAT TO CUT OR NOT. THE WHOLE GROUP DID AN OUTSTANDING JOB IN ALL OF THE DEPARTMENTS & PRODUCED A BOOK I AM THRILLED WITH & PROUD TO SHOW TO THE WORLD. I DON'T THINK I COULD HAVE DONE BETTER WITH ANY PUBLISHER EVEN AT TWICE THE PRICE. FIVE STAR ALL THE WAY! GB
AVOID AVOID AVOID Somebody else in these reviews said something like, “from the moment they get your money they don’t want to know you…..” but lo and behold when the next payment misses they’re all over you! They want you to forget all of the unanswered emails and phone calls etc.I hate to steal the words of somebody else on Trust Pilot but somebody did say before I was stupid enough to hand my money (but luckily enough, my bank got it back because they knew they were being deceptive), “you have been warned” Now you’ve now been warned TWICE!!Give this company a huge miss!!!Edit: I actually enquired when they wanted payment why they don’t answer negative reviews and got some very benign response. In the early hours of the morning, I’ve been asked to provide proof that I have been with this company which I did because they want to get back to me – Oh please, you had enough chances and every time I tried to contact you you completely ignored me! Until your second payment wouldn’t go through of the same amount of $341.48!The ANZ Bank found you to be deceptive and that’s why I was refunded in full!(If trust pilot would like proof or can see where I’ve replied to Xlibris and shown proof that I did purchase from this company and was extremely dissatisfied, then I completely stand by my review!)The fact that they reflect what others have also said on this very site is nothing more than our experiences with Xlibris.) Thank you
I have published many books with Xlibris. In the past year four books have been published. I found no one at Xlibris was coordinating the effort, Out the four books as a series, one of the books has a totally different cover design than the other three. I had called several people to no avail. There was the book editor for the fourth book that change all "mother and father" into "Mother and Father" while the other books' editor insisted on using "mother and father" in lower cases. The fourth book editor also made me to drop two chapters of the contents that were twenty-five years history and peoples' names were changed. My book had lost two most important chapters.
After researching different publishing companies I decided on Xlibris. I felt the price was reasonable and after many years of contemplating on publishing my book, I am happy with my choice. The staff who worked with me were very kind, professional, and helpful. No one has ever read my book "Life of a mental health worker" until now, just saw it listed on Barnes and Noble. They are designing a web page as a gift for two years and I just received my copies in soft and hard covers in time for Holiday gifts, very pleased. The only negative thing I encountered was a phone call saying it is very important to get recognized and advertising for my book followed with needing $7000 plus to do this, a bit of pressure but I declined. Another call from another staff saying to get my book out there she can do 2 or 3 podcasts with popular people, thought she said $699, so I said send me the info, was interested. Got the info, 3 Payments of $600 plus so again I declined. So I guess I will try to promote my book through social media, if not a big hit at least my family can read it and pass it down to my grandkids and generations to come. I have a 2nd book I may also publish, I plan to use Xlibris again when I'm ready.
After searching for a publishing company that had a reasonable charge, I chose Xlibris. They were very good about getting my book in print, but when it came to distribution they failed miserably.Nothin through Barnes and Nobel or any other book store. They will do the, but only for extra money. The bottom line with them is money.I have never been notified that my book has been distributed, or even if there has been any sales.Bottom line? Money. You'd better have a lot in order to get started.
