We bought a shed from York Timber and it started leaking badly, they said we hadn't sealed it, but the amount of water finding it's way in was causing mold, the roof timbers are not up to the job and bending under the weight, the frame has buckled so badly the door will not shut properly.Maybe it's because we ordered a larger shed and there were complications, but we were left feeling the after care just wasn't there and it's not up to the job.
DO NOT BUY WITH THEM. you will go to the showroom and see the perfect shed. They ask you to pay I'm advance. And then what they class as a completed shed is nothing but an utter disaster not to consider all the health and safety issues that have been left like split frame work and sticking out screws. If your looking for a cheaply built, dangerous and over priced shed then this the company for you. The customer care is appalling too they will tryband offer you a tiny amount of money just to live with it and if that doesn't work they off to take it away and refund you, knowing full well people by sheds for a reason and become dependent on there use. Save yourself time, money and stress by going somewhere else!
Paid over the phone for timber to be delivered to cover our disabled sons sensory hot tub, which helps with coping with his disabilities. Was told would be delivered the next week called to find out why it had not been delivered the following week. Was put on to IAN who promised would be here 2 days later and if not was to call him at lunchtime that day. Surprisingly nothing turned up, so called IAN he said was on the m1 at luton on way to me. I guess driver was lost because to go to HULL via LUTON from SELBY and still not arrive is an absolute joke. Will be contacting trading standards after the weekend.
I visited their show site to view the summerhouse I wanted before placing my order. I saw and paid for the higher quality version but was sent the lower quality, although I didn't realise this at the time. When it came to assembling it, the roof didn't fit and despite agreeing to replace it, subsequently tried to wriggle out of doing so. Months down the line, with water pouring in through gaps in the roof and holes in the poorly-made structure itself, they finally agreed to deal with it. I had already painted the summerhouse and asked them to leave any part of it they could but was told "we will send a whole structure and replace what needs replacing". However, when they came, they didn't send the doors and when those didn't marry up with the rest of the new structure, I called the office. They told me they had sent me a "higher quality structure" (indicating they knew they'd tried to 'diddle' me by sending the poorer quality one originally) and the fitters would stretch the new sections to fit the old! I'm no joiner, but I know wood doesn't stretch so I said this wasn't acceptable at which point, without my agreement, they dismantled the whole thing and took it away - effectively stealing my property! Leaving broken glass and roof nails (all amazingly pointing upwards) strewn across my drive. I have since tried to claim back my out-of-pocket expenses (for days off work, paint, telephone calls etc) but they have refused to reimburse me and have responded in a bullying fashion - thinking they can just take advantage of a lone female. All I have had is a refund through PayPal but have still not received everything I paid out as they have left me liable for the PayPal charges! Needless to say, I have reported this dishonest company to Trading Standards - I suggest, if you have found yourself in the same position, you do the same. The more people who complain, the harder Trading Standards are going to come down on them - they need to be stopped from defrauding unsuspecting customers! Better still, if you haven't yet given them your custom yet, I strongly suggest you don't!!! I'm not working at the moment but as soon as I get a job and can afford to, I will definitely take them to Court to recover all of my out-pocket-expenses. Oh, and by the way, I have screenshots that prove their sale prices are more expensive than their 'normal' prices! If you are looking for a reputable company to supply a garden building, I can heartily recommend Albany Sheds. They are manufacturers rather than retailers so you will need to buy through a supplier but their products are great quality and their customer service is even better.
Went shopping for a summer house and saw this site on line. Good prices so went to closest site outside of Malton. Salesman was not very confident and made a delivery date. We then told him that the day itself was not good for me. I was told that I could call and have it changed but he failed to tell me that delivery in my area is only on a certain day which is the one day I cannot change in order to be there. I spoke to someone in the office who told me no to another day and no to a set time. She then said she would call me back on the same day but she never did. My partner didn't want me to cancel the order and we now have to arrange for someone to sit and wait for the delivery. For the sake of a few quid, we should have gone to the place we went before where we were the customer and nothing was too much. Very dissatisfied with the service end and have told everyone I know, not to use them.
