Zizzi bexleyheath. It took 40 mins for the starters to arrive and the restaurant is not even half full. As I write this I am still awaIting my main course and I've now been here for an hour and a half. This is such poor service I won't be comming here again.
Not a fan. The starter, fine. Mains? Meh. My Ragu wasn’t great. The pasta was half cooked and nearly cold as I imagine it had been sat waiting for my partners calzone to be cooked. A very feckin expensive Ragu for what it was too!!! Saying that, the whole menu is over priced to be honest. They didn’t have the raspberry and white chocolate tiramisu that was so openly advertised as ‘new’ ‘wow look at this’ which was disappointing. The cheesecake had a wet base and the latte I ordered was very bitter. Not worth the money we spent at all. Oh. The place was cold too. I expect a restaurant to be a comfortable temperature, seeing as there’s people and cooking going on.
We visited the Bexleyheath Zizzi, Luke was really helpful, we had a special offer as it was hubby's birthday but it wouldn't work. No problem, Luke patiently resolved the issue. Hubby really enjoyed the sticky pork pizza with honey. I had a taste and was impressed. Overall the meal was very good value. Lovely service from Luke made a really pleasant evening
What went wrong? Everything!Looked at the allergies list - only contains 14 items, no information on my intolerance/allergy (onions, shallotts).Main course - the server couldn't tell me what was in the sauce, made no attempt to find out.OK, Plan B: Please could I have the Chicken & Prosciutto salad but without tomato and avocado, and no dressing - in other words green salad with the chicken and crispy prosciutto. Server said no. Couldn't alter the dish, it "wasn't allowed". I said all I'm asking is that you leave out two items - not difficult. Flat "No".Server offhand well beyond the point the rudeness.I ended up with a bowl of chips - nothing else because there is no list of ingredients, the server was unhelpful to the nth degree. Novel experience - going out for a meal and then coming home to cook.
Booked a table online for 9pm. Walked in to be told sorry kitchen is closed! We politely said we had a booking. Server looked at the chef who was slouched in the kitchen and said "they have a booking" ...he just kind of shrugged. She then said you can have a table but you need to order starter main and desert all at once!! Unbelievable!!! Obviously we left....out of interest, half an hour later I could still book a table online!! ...what a rubbish experience. The Chatham Zizzi only opened 3 months ago! ...maybe try sticking to the opening hours! Won't be going back as clearly the chef doesn't want to cook!
A good start the starters were served quickly and they were nice.. But after that... Well... Really the worst service we ever had.. Zizzi in Bedford is a Never again... We waited for about an hour to get 1pizza and a bowl of pasta for our little boy. Restaurant was not even busy.. No way we are coming back.. Terrible, two or three people in the kitchen and 4 serving... In the end we were given a bill of around 79£.. No coffee, no desert nothing else and the waiter gave us the option to give a tip either by credit card or cash saying cash is better... I worked in restaurants before but I have never had the courage to talk to a customer like that.. Anyway.. We paid, gave no tip.. AND OUT OF THE DOOR...
