I am writing this review as a matter of public record regarding a significant unresolved payroll debt at 1-grid. Despite my dismissal and formal demands for payment, the company still owes me a total of R 21,500.70 in statutory dues for work performed between September and December 2025.
Management has ignored detailed breakdowns and legal correspondence regarding the following outstanding amounts:
Accrued Leave Payout: R 13,321.28 (16 days unpaid – a mandatory requirement under Labor Law).
Public Holiday Premiums: R 2,035.66 (Worked 16 & 26 Dec; paid single rate instead of the double rate required by BCEA Sec 18).
Sunday Pay Premiums: R 4,071.76 (8 Sunday shifts paid at 1.0x instead of the 1.5x premium required by BCEA Sec 16).
Night Shift Allowance: R 2,072.00 (28 shifts worked 22:00–07:00 without the standard 10% allowance).
My signed Offer of Employment explicitly states operating hours are between 07:00 and 19:00; however, I worked these additional shifts in good faith. 1-grid has failed to honor these statutory obligations.
I have 6 credible witnesses and digital logs confirming my shift attendance. I am prepared to escalate this further through the CCMA and Labor Commissioner. Potential employees and clients should be aware of these internal practices.

Our office emails stopped working through Outlook. With an email to 1-grid explaining the situation, we got a response from Shayne who gave us settings to use which surprisingly didn't need a tech expert to apply and just like that Outlook started communicating with online mails.

I need to highlight the ongoing and unlawful actions of the service provider, which have led me to pursue legal recourse due to significant financial losses, emotional distress, and breaches of my privacy and consumer rights. My business emails have been inaccessible for almost two months. During this time, the provider has imposed unclear and excessive charges outside of my contract. Despite my urgent requests for help, they continue to ignore me, even after I paid amounts that were never properly clarified or agreed upon. Each time I reach out by phone, I incur an additional charge without justification. These fees keep accumulating while my access remains blocked. Most alarmingly, the service provider is unlawfully withholding my business emails, which include: - Highly sensitive personal and commercial information - Contracts - Confidential client communications - Critical business records. This situation has resulted in lost time, financial setbacks on contracts, and serious damage to my reputation. I am deeply affected by the treatment I have received. I feel emotionally devastated and have been brought to tears by the neglect and complete disregard shown by this service. Without my consent, they have repeatedly altered my email passwords, blocked my access, and retained my personal and business information. I have switched to a new provider due to the ongoing disrespect and operational harm. Even after paying unexpected charges, I still cannot access my 300 emails. When I call the support line, I am repeatedly told that there are no agents available to assist me since November 2025. I have sent multiple emails to the CEO with no response.
We experienced email downtime on the 11th of December, which was resolved later that day. However, on the 15th of December, we encountered the same issue again. This marks the eighth occurrence of this problem this year. Why has this not been resolved permanently? Why does it take an average of two days to fix the issue only for it to reappear? This is not the ideal platform for building, managing, and scaling an online business. I plan to switch providers next week. I recommend staying away.
I had a frustrating experience yesterday waiting to speak with a support agent for 15 minutes only to be cut off. I was upset and sent an email. At 17:50 last night, I received a call from a support agent who restored my faith in excellent customer service. I commend the agent for their professionalism and product knowledge. The follow-up call this morning confirmed their dedication.
It took three days to get a hosted server issue resolved. The technician admitted it was a hardware fault and eventually moved our VM to another cluster. This delay cost our business significantly. I advise staying away from this provider if you need reliable hosting.
