Sitting in Accuvision’s inviting waitingroom now after one of my last post-surgery checks, sharing my review: I had LASIK surgery here on both eyes, 5 months ago, and have 20-20 vision now. I used to wear glasses/contact lenses every day since I was a child. Having full vision now is just amazing. It took several weeks for my second eye to heal properly, it was constantly improving, in contrast to the other eye, which was full vision straight after the surgery, but I was told that can happen. The Accuvision team guided me through all in the most professional and caring way, helping me with my fears before the surgery, and afterwards during the healing process. I can highly recommend them, and would definitely do surgery there again!
After growing tired of wearing glasses with my eyes constantly declining rapidly, I attempted to get laser eye surgery at a high street opticians. I was turned down on the day of my surgery after tests determined my prescription was too high (-5.0) and my corneas were too thin. I was devastated and accepted I would have to wear glasses for the rest of my life. 2 years later I came across Accuvision and discovered they had a much broader and specialised range of treatments and equipment available than anywhere else I had previously seen. I decided to book a consultation at Accuvision London Fulham even though I didn’t have my hopes up seeing as I was now a -7.0. To my surprise, after running my eye tests with multiple opinions to confirm my suitability, it was determined that I was suitable for a Trans-Epi Lasek procedure with a further cross-linking surgery to stabilise my corneas to prevent any future issues that could arise.Both procedures only took an hour and I was comfortable the whole way through. The healing procedure was tough for the first two days but since I have felt free. The blessing to be able to see clearly is definitely something I will never take for granted. I am even relieved I had previously been turned down by the other opticians. The standard of care and support both pre-procedure and post-procedure has consistently been incredible. This is not a clinic that will abandon you after treatment, I have regular check up appointments. I am now 2 months post op and 20/20 on the chart. I am much happier and more confident. I can’t thank the team enough, I will forever be grateful.
The best decision I have made in a long time!I had been happily wearing monovision contact lenses for 5 years, but my eyes were gradually drying out and my lenses were lifting at the edges, irritating my eyelids. I had been toying with the idea of LASIK surgery when a chance meeting with a lady praising Accuvision made up my mind.I couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Each stage was explained clearly and I never felt pressured. Natalia at the Wetherby clinic was a superstar and I felt that I was in safe hands throughout. Even though the surgery was explained step-by-step and was a painless experience, it still feels like there must have been some magic going on as I could see immediately! My aftercare has been (and continues to be) amazing and the team have made every effort to accommodate me. My eyes quickly adjusted to my new monovision prescription and feel so much better now they are not irritated daily by contact lenses.If you are considering laser eye surgery I would definitely recommend contacting Accuvision. You will find out all the facts and if you are suitable, there is no pressure and if you make the decision to go ahead you will be in the safest of hands.
I recently had laser surgery at the Wetherby Branch. The staff were fabulous and so welcoming. My sister Alison and I went together for every appointment and she was made just as welcome although not having surgery. From the very start everything was well explained and nerves settled. Couldn’t believe how comfortable and easy the surgery was. I was nervous because you really value your sight and didn’t want to take a big risk but I didn’t have to worry. I only needed one eye correcting and I was prepared to have both so I was impressed they didn’t do anything unnecessary to make money but explained how it was possible to do one eye for reading and the other eye was good for vision and explained how the brain figured it out which meant I wasn’t so much out of pocket. The result was amazing and immediate. Really good aftercare and my sister and I treated our visits as a day out as we came from Leeds. Definitely wish I had done it sooner, especially with the Pandemic and Foggy Glasses. Best decision made despite my slight hesitation. Far easier than I thought it would be. If you are thinking about doing it, don’t hesitate. I thought about doing it for years and I am so glad that I eventually made my mind up to go ahead. I am 63. My experience was a complicated one, so please read on.I had quite a severe astigmatism and blepharitis and I'm 41.Excellent service as I needed 2 visits to confirm suitability. Also to discuss MonoVision. I can highly recommend this. Some may be concerned about not having perfect vision initially, but if this means not wearing reading glasses for a few extra years, so be it. The only time in day to day life I notice this is going from dark to light, but your eyes adjust fairly quickly. Again, I stress, MonoVision is worth it. As is the LASIK procedure. I could see quite well the day after. My vision took about 10 weeks to adapt properly, though I was fine after 2 days.At all points listen and do what your consultant advises and do those things (my vision took a while to adjust properly as I didn't do the exercises as I was instructed to).Would I recommend LASIK, MonoVision and (as importantly) Accuvision to others?100%.The service I received (and continue to) has been superb.
Highly recommend! After 30 years of wearing glasses and being told from numerous specialists in many different companies my complex prescription was too difficult for any sort of laser eye surgery I was reluctant to even book a consultation. However someone recommended Accuvision after years of being turned away just like me. I went for my first consultation and I was welcomed with open arms. The consultation took about 45 minutes And they were extremely thorough checking my eye health from every angle which put me at ease knowing they were not going to take any risks. I was told pretty swiftly by the specialist, that I was able to have the procedure.Excited and nervous 3 weeks couldn’t come fast enough. On the day of the surgery I was told to bring sunglasses as my eyes will be sensitive to light for the first day and possibly the 2nd day too. I arrived for the surgery and the surgeon talked me through what will happen. Scared of practically anything I was nervous and was expecting pain and wasn’t looking forward to it! A small device was put around my eyelid to prevent my eye from closing, drops were put in my eyes and a laser light did the surgery within 10 seconds on each eye. I didn’t feel a thing! The on-site manager was also in the room with me even though he didn’t need to as support which i thought was a great touch. I walked out within 5 mins and I could already see! I was advised to keep my eyes closed or not to open them much for the rest of the day. Woke up from a nap couple hours later and my vision was almost perfect albeit slightly blurry which is expected initially. Following day waking up and being able to see the time on the bedside table clock without needing to put on my glasses felt miraculous. I am not one for writing reviews but I know there are people out there with worse vision then myself and I know how it can affect every part of your life. But if this helps even one person to contact accuvision and gain the confidence I have or be able to wear sunglasses on the beach then that’s a win!
