This company can improve by stopping ripping off it's authors and narrators, and answering questions asked and not sending out the same non-explanatory links time after time after time.
ACX IS HORRIBLE!!! THE END OF 2022 I MADE A ROYALTY SHARE AGREEMENT WITH A NARRATOR (LATER FOUND OUT THIS WAS HIS FIRST TIME NARRATING) THE PRODUCER REACHED OUT TO ME INTERESTED IN NARRATING MY NOVEL. HE SOUNDED GOOD FOR THE AUDITION AND THE FIRST 12 CHAPTERS OF MY NOVEL. THEN AFTER CHAPTER 12 HE MADE A LOT OF MISTAKES FOR THE REMAINING 20 CHAPTERS INCLUDING ERRORS IN DIALOGUE AND HIS VOICE CHANGED INTO BRITISH ACCENTS. (APPARENTLY HE IS SOME YOUNG WANNABE ACTOR BASED IN CHICAGO) HE LET ME KNOW THAT HE WAS THANKFUL FOR THE OPPORTUNITY AND THAT HE IS ALSO NARRATING ANOTHER AUDIO AT THE SAME TIME HE IS DOING MINE. (RED FLAG)HE FINISHED THE FIRST AUDIO BOOK AND IT WAS FILLED WITH MISTAKES THAT I ADDRESSED TO HIM. HE SAID THAT THE DUE DATE IS APPROACHING AND HE DOESN'T KNOW IF HE CAN FIX IT IN TIME. I TOLD HIM THAT I CANNOT APPROVE THE AUDIOBOOK IF IT'S NOT COMPLETED ERROR FREE.I TOLD HIM IF HE CAN'T FIX IT THAN WE HAVE TO TERMINATE THE AGREEMENT BECAUSE THE AUDIOBOOK ISN'T UP TO PAR AND IT SOUNDS TERRIBLE. HE Agreed TO TERMINATE IT. Then 4 HOURS LATER TOLD ME I OWE HIM $1,100 DOLLARS FOR THE ERROR RIDDLED AUDIOBOOK AND I NEED TO WIRE HIM THE MONEY ASAP IF I WANT TO TERMINATE IT. I TOLD THIS YOUNG MAN THAT WE AGREED TO ROYALTY SHARE AND THAT I OWE HIM NOTHING. He OWES ME A REVISION WHICH IS IN MY RIGHT. HE NEVER RESPONDED TO MY REQUEST AND HAS LEFT THE BOOK ON "WAITING FOR FINISHED AUDIOBOOK" SINCE MARCH 29, 2023AFTER OUR BACK AND FORTH MESSAGES THE PRODUCER DECIDES TO LEAVE A DISGUSTING REVIEW ON MY BOOK ON AMAZON (I SNAPSHOT THE REVIEW AND MADE A COMPLAINT TO AMAZON AND ACX) HOW IMMATURE IS THAT TO DO WHILE WE STILL HAVE A CONTRACT.I REACHED OUT TO ACX ABOUT 6 TIMES AND NOT ONLY WERE THEY RUDE BUT ARE NOW CLAIMING THAT THE PRODUCER DID REVISIONS WHICH IS A BOLD FACE LIE. I HAVE PROOF HE DIDNT DO REVISIONS. I AM STILL WAITING FOR THE REVISIONS AND NOW ACX TOLD ME THAT I HAVE TO GET LEGAL COUNCIL LIKE GET A LAWYER IN OTHER WORDS TO RESOLVE THIS WITH THE PRODUCER.NOW MY AUDIOBOOK HAS BEEN TAKEN HOSTAGE. I HAVE NO REVISIONS AND I CAN'T HAVE AN AUDIOBOOK MADE FOR MY FIRST BOOK IN MY SERIES UNTIL THIS IS RESOLVED WHICH IT WILL NEVER BE RESOLVED. ACX IS RUDE, INCOMPETENT AND THEY DO NOT CARE ABOUT AUTHORS.
I narrated a book called I am legion of which ACX were paying me royalties for. Then all of a sudden one day they’d stopped paying and with it being a small amount of money, I’d forgotten about them and a few years later decided to be firm. Put my foot down. I want those royalties which might be a few hundred dollars now. ACX know I no longer have the email address which they associate with the account. Only say unless I contact themIsing that email they wong speak to me.I have told them I dont want them to sell the book I narrated now. This I believe they are ignoring too.
I agree with all the other reviews! One of the worst companies I've ever worked with! They said, "They had an issue with my book on my account". So deleted it, which they didn't expect me to do. Then they said, "We have nothing else to say, and that end of the matter". That is literally the type of people you are dealing with rude, unhelpful and insulting.
It's a very difficult site to navigate. There is SORT OF a connection with the Amazon site, but I've spent a week trying to upload my audio, and I'm ready to give up. The tenuous nature of the link with Amazon makes it impossible to communicate effectively. My book is ready to upload, but they have now made it impossible. I give up.
I was locked out of my account, for no reason. The main directive was for me to contact Amazon. I did, although Amazon couldn't help me because they said they were not connected to ACX's system. I contact ACX directly and the customer service rep claimed she couldn't help me with my problem because I didn't give her the correct billing address to my account. First, I don't see how I could've given her the wrong one, but even if I did (I said, let's say I misspelled it) she says there's no other way to get in. Thank God I didn't have money sitting in my account that I would've been losing. This all seemed so random and echos many other people's reviews that their system & customer services are TRASH and needlessly difficult.
Booked a 6 seater taxi 6 weeks in advance for a very important event. No sign of the taxi when we arrived at the station. After waiting 10mins and bring cut off 3 times I called to be told they had no drivers as they were all on their break. Appalling service. To not fulfill a booking and not even inform the customer they couldn’t do it is disgraceful. Would never use again and would encourage others not to. Completely opposite to the professional services their website describes. Truly awful.
Holy socks, what happened to them? They've gone to trash when they once were top Audiobook platform. Constantly down or booting you after a few moments while searching open title auditions, that either open to a blank web page, or an error syntax page meaning EXPIRED TITLE. Which is a total waste of time. Whatever. So glad there are other, more affable audiobook sites to work with.
What a nightmare. Gave an address in SE10 and he took us to the O2. Told him it was the wrong address and attempted to go thru Blackwall Tunnel. I directed him closer and still took the wrong way. As an insult he charged un £9 extra. Told the office of the problem to avoid it for our return journey and he goes to the same wrong area. First time we have used them for years and won't be going back. Abysmal.
Everything was going well working ACX until I made an offer to the narrator and he accepted the offer. Then, a day later he decided to back down from it and just sent me a message through ACX saying he can no longer do the narration. I found a different narrator but I cannot move forward because my first narrator needs to send an email to acx approving the contract dissolution. It’s been a few days and he doesn’t respond to my messages. So now I am stuck. I reached out to ACX and they basically said I am stucked until he decides to send that email. They did not trouble going through our communication via ACX and confirm what I am saying. They did not bother trying to reach out to him on my behalf. They just told me, the customer who is paying, I am screwed. I think they can do way better. I am super disappointed with this whole process now.
