We booked a week by airbnb. Our main booker went ill and we sent a friend together with the second guest. So we just made a reservation for 2 guests They forbid us to give the key so we need to book another hotel. Our paid money around 500 euro we did not receive back . The next day the reception told that the booking was cancelled !! Not by us !!! And that should receive our money back from airbnb. So a realy unflexible bad experience aS well there was no form of hospitality from as well the reception as the manager . This is about euro parcs hulkestein in Nijkerk the netherlands
My host cancelled 4 days before with no explanation. I want to give her the benefit of the doubt, maybe there was a family emergency. But the customer service was HORRIBLE after that. I had to ask for a discount for the inconvenience. They offered a $69 to rebook, a 5% discount which is not an acceptable amount for the inconvenience this called. I was about to take off for an international flight so I rebooked a new place quickly that the customer service shared with me that they told me was the same area. I lost service on my flight and then the next day when I had service, I went to look at the Airbnb and realized it was not the location I wanted. In California, it says you have 24 hours to cancel as long as the booking was 72 hours before (which mine was). I was on the phone with Airbnb and they told me they had to look into the California laws I shared with them and they would call me back in 2 hours. Airbnb then told me I wouldn’t get a refund because it was 27 hours, which was outside of that policy. I tired to reach out the host of the new place and they told me they would only refund me if someone else booked. It was just over three days away and I do not expect someone to book it. The customer service was BEYOND horrible and I will never ever use Airbnb again. Please share this story as warning to not use Airbnb.
Foreign customer service agents that clearly don’t understand English nor their own policies.Online guidance is completely misleading regarding gift cards, which can only be used to offset the full balance, not to pay deposits, despite their website saying they can.
I booked 3 nights in Berlin and booked simultaneously with flights. I then got a confirmation email after I had paid. With the wrong dates!!!!! Highly suspicious. And as it’s non refundable I have now lost £200. Would not recommend Berlin OR Air B and B to anyone.
My colleagues and I had a very disappointing experience with Airbnb, and as a result, all of us made the decision to discontinue using their services. What happened was that their vendor (apartment owner) had cancelled at the last moment (late in the evening), and it was too late to book another unit. So we contacted Airbnb and gave their staff an opportunity to find a replacement property. This was not done (due to late hour); and instead we were expressly told by Airbnb representative to go to a hotel. It was clearly discussed that it’s a more expensive option because we needed at least three rooms. This was clearly understood -- and we proceeded to do as instructed.Subsequently, very surprisingly, Airbnb refused to reimburse the costs that we had to endure associated with the three hotel rooms (in excess of the original budget, per the cost of the apartment I had contracted from Airbnb). I became aware that Airbnb collected $50 as penalty from the reneging owner/vendor. Strangely, however, Airbnb didn't even offer that amount towards my unplanned costs that night (caused by the breach/cancellation). Needless to say, this is dishonest/unacceptable, so we’ll not work with Airbnb in the future. Fortunately, alternatives do exist.
Janae, the Airbnb host, requested an additional payment from me so I could rent the two bedroom "casita" in the back of the home even though the ad stated it was a 7 bedroom, not five. I agreed since we needed the full 7 bedrooms. She canceled on me the next day and kept my deposit. Airbnb states they can't help and she needs to release it.
Contacting Airbnb support is the most frustrating experience one can have. Try emailing them to only be asked if you can do a phone call and upon not immediately responding having them close the inquiry. I challenge everyone to attempt to get a resolution or information in any written format. They must really be uncomfortable answering anything in writing. #shady
