AJAX products are high quality, very reliable and NDAA approved (secure). More importantly their customer support has been great about answering questions and taking on suggestions for improvement. I always get a response and a good one at that. I also notice appreciate that firmware updates are regular which means their products are provided through-life support rather than just dumped and moved on from. The only thing that would help in terms of their CCTV cameras is in the settings putting some explanatory notes in layman's terms what the various settings do and trade offs between setting X and setting Y. Just to make it easier to optimise the cameras image to the environment in which it is installed in. Other than that I'm happily and gradually fitting out my entire home (Australia).
Have been using Ajax security system for 4 years and been reasonably happy apart from 1 failed door protects. Added the Ajax door bell recently and really disappointed. Ajax are now more focussed on just making life easier for installers so their products are recommended to the customers. Doorbell issues 1) Unless you have a Hub model that is more recent ( above hub plus) the door bell will only speak to the hub through WiFi. The hub will need to be using the wings radio protocol. Hubs using jeweller won't speak directly to the door bell. This puts the door bell in the same category of other WiFi video doorbells and slow response. 2) you will need to invest in Ajax NVR or Ajax cloud storage subscription to see any image or videos. This again only ties you more into the Ajax eco needing to spend more for the Ajax NVR and cloud. 3) Images really poor quality. Not 2k like the ones on mainstream cameras like Eufy, ring. You get a fish eye appearance on the live feed and no adjustment within the app to correct that. So overall with poor image quality, limited app function and needing to invest more in a new hub, NVR or storage makes the cost of the door bell too high with no additional advantage over existing video doorbells from other brands. Ajax's pitch about instant notifications is still likely to be slow as others dependent on the WiFi, cloud and mobile reception. Regretting buying this. Ajax really needs focus on end customer to last longer and not focussed on installers and generating revenue streams for installers and distributors.
In this day and age, my expectations are always low when asking a company for technical help, but Ajax surprised massively on the positive side.Safe to say, I have not experienced such helpful and speedy responses to queries in many years. As far as service standards are required Ajax is definitely a five star plus company. Hope this helps future customers.
