Review of Al Ansari ExchangeZainabu Ali Jan 5 , 2025**Absolutely Devastating& Frustrating – Al Ansari Exchange is Committing Sheer Injustice**I had an incredibly frustrating and disappointing experience with Al Ansari Exchange, and I feel compelled to warn others about their questionable practices. I sent 1,399.25 AED as school fees to my son in my home country through mobile money Mpesa . Till to date i have not received the transfer on my phone as i can track the transaction*,but they also **canceled the receipt token yet they sent me sms to show the amount has been credited while it hasn't and when i question their unhelpful staff they say its a systems error .What kind of nonsense is this?The transfer has not gone through yet till to date because Al Ansari cannot explain to me in simple terms where the problem is. I need a refund to my money since I paid for the services and they have not provided it.After ** 6 days of follow up ** , I contacted Al Ansari customer care[ Burjuman branch] and I am told the transfer didn’t go through due to Central bank UAE or i dont know dubai court blocking etc. No clear information .This means that I am assumed as a criminal customer who has no good track record to send money through Al Ansari exchange, I still believe the transaction has not failed but due to their incompetence and irrelevant procedures, I am being frustrated for no apparent reason given the fact that i contacted CB UAE in there presence who asserted that they dont block transactions of lesser amounts and for no apparent reason they could do that for me.**This is nothing short of sheer incompetency , poor services and lack of business awareness .**What jurisdiction or authority does Al Ansari exchange command in holding a client's remittance without any tangible reason or explanation?Is Al Ansari exchange a legal lending institution ?When I raised the issue and requested them to **internally review, investigate and refund my money **, there was no sense of urgency or accountability. No one has escalated the matter, and it seems they have no intention of resolving this properly or soon.I will be **reporting this to the police** and hope that a full investigation into Al Ansari Exchange’s practices will follow. I strongly advise against using their Mpesa services if you care about transparency and integrity.**Avoid it at all costs.**Date of experience: 05 Jan 2025.
Tried to make an online transfer through the application. I was informed the transfer didn't go through, five minutes later the amount is deducted from my account. Now, I'm going through endless communications to get my money back. Pathetic customer service, overpriced charges, never again.
What went wrong:1. I went to Al Ansari Exchange Dubai Hills Mall branch in the morning around 12:15 pm on 07/12/2024. The person at the counter told me that my account is old, and it is not active and needs to be activated with my Emirates Id. He took my Id and in about 20 minutes he got it done and exchanged my currency. 2. I went to Al Ansari Exchange Dubai Hills Mall same day again at 08:24 pm to send money to India to my own account in Standard Chartered Bank.3. The counter person asked me to submit many documents to activate my old account which I had opened before 2000, which was activated in the morning when I exchanged money.4. With lot of trouble finally my transaction was completed in 1 hour and 16 minutes.This is the efficiency of Al Ansari Exchange in Dubain hills Mall.
