No one at the airport to wait for us! !Even though we clearly mentioned the flight number, once we met the person responsible for taking us to the agency outside the terminal after calling him, he told us to wait 30 minutes because he was handling everything alone!!Moreover, at the agency,another person was much less friendly and used a trick to make us believe that the credit card wouldn't work for the deposit, this to force us to pay their insurance. It was 1 a.m. and with children, I had to give in. When we returned the car, he insisted on giving us a 5-star rating!! because he was supposed to take us to the airport, so don't believe the 5-star reviews.
I've booked a car for a week in this place and had a terrible experience.1. Had to wait for their transfer for 1.5h outside of the airport without clear communication/eta.2. Their website and booking details showed prices in euro. When I came to their office, they said they only bill in TRY and their "fantastic" currency conversion rate turned out to be 15% higher than market. This rate made all the saving at this place useless.3. I booked a diesel car. They gave me gasoline car referring to "or similar" on their website. To my understanding, class/size, gearbox type and fuel type should be guaranteed to match the booking details. And "or similar" can only be applied to a different make/model.4. The staff was absolutely unprofessional and screamed at me in Turkish when I was complaining about the car fuel type and conversion rates.My recommendation is to avoid this place at all cost. I choose it because of a lower price, however because of the conversion rate the price was the same as anywhere else.
We rented a car through VIP Cars, which was handled by one of their local subcontractors "ALL MEET RENT A CAR". Normally, we should have received the vehicle directly at the airport. Instead, we needed to call them upon arrival.After contacting them, we spent over an hour trying to locate their representative. We were waiting at Terminal 2, but they insisted that we come to Terminal 1, approximately 2 kilometers away. When we finally found the driver, he took us to their office, which was located in a remote area.Once there, the problems really began. We have three credit cards, but according to them:The first card “did not work.”The second card “did not work” either.The third card, which is in my name, was refused because the booking was under my husband’s name, who was listed as the driver.They refused to release the car unless we paid an additional €120 for their own insurance. We had already purchased full insurance coverage through VIP Cars, as well as a separate comprehensive policy through RentalCover, yet they insisted this was “not sufficient” because our credit cards supposedly failed.This is a clear scam tactic to pressure customers into buying unnecessary local insurance.We strongly advise VIP Cars and future renters to investigate this supplier and avoid them at all costs. Our experience caused significant stress whit our 2 kids and wasted € 120 and hours at the start of our trip.
