Because they're a bunch of Nervous Nellies who have no idea about the areas and risks they insure, they routinely over-react. Want proof? They raised my homeowner's insurance over 75% in one year for a fire risk that other local companies framiliar with where I live said was non-existent! The bottom line is I switched to a local company, thereby reducing my premium by 80%! That wasn't the only malfeasance on the part of Amica. In 2020, they mischaracterized my hazard rating by 15% and had to backtrack when I proved the error. For this fiasco, I requested compensation and I was denied! Amica may have been in business for over 100 years, but no wise person, based on their current behavior, would bet they'll last another 10!
I needed a 500mm wide modern free standing oven/hob for a tiny kitchen and this looked a good buy. It was delivered fast (AO.com) and is a very stylish free standing cooker. Works well, everything included and easy to install.
Fridge Bottom freezer. Capacity is good but freezer does not defrost automatically now it's back to 1960's.At £499. not cheap, not even 18months and a new 1 has to be purchased. It was a gift. Waste of money. Dents easily cannot level it up!!!AVOID
Bought an Amica Dishwasher just over a month ago now and have run it less than a dozen times (as only use it for full loads when entertaining).Start button playing up already (only works intermittently).Contacted Amica and nearly a week later still no confirmation of when to expect an engineer visit to rectify the fault.Getting nowhere with their Customer Services (made to jump through hoops to prove purchase, despite having sent a PDF copy of the invoice and a copy of the original ''bill of sale'' email from AO) so called AO Customer Services directly. They called Amica on my behalf (and sat in on the call) where I was told by their representative that ''I should hear something by next Tuesday (today being a Friday) as their repair contractors don't work weekends'' and offered me a measly ''£30 for the inconvenience''.I declined their offer and requested a full refund (under my statutory rights!) instead, whilst upgrading to a Samsung (which I should have bought in the first place!) via AO who not only required the payment of the difference of £100 AND knocked off a further £20 for the inconvenience I had suffered at the hands of Amica, but will be delivering my new appliance and picking up the old one TOMORROW! (Now that's what I call ''customer service''!!) (I just hope that the Amica double oven I purchased at the same time doesn't now start to cause me problems!?!)
