Disappointing Experience

Disappointing Experience – Wouldn’t RecommendI won a makeover and photoshoot experience, but was required to pay a deposit beforehand. On the dayof viewing I chose one free photo and after them keep asking what package I would like to buy and me saying I couldn't really afford it at the moment as I'd just had my fathers funeral bill of nearly £2,500 I told them maybe the digital but was undecided, I felt like I couldn't say no and was told by a staff member that I could take some time to decide if I wanted to purchase one of the more expensive photo packages and they would ring me in 2 weeks and if I decided not to I would get my deposit back In the 19th may I received a call and explained that due to the unexpected cost of my father’s funeral, I couldn’t afford any additional packages. I was then told that I wouldn’t be getting my deposit back, as it had been “put on hold” – something that was never made clear to me during the appointment. I was led to believe I had time to consider my options, not that my deposit was being used in the meantime, I made it clear to the woman on the phone that no one mentioned that to me and she said she wasn't allowed to say yes or no and she would get her manger to ring me back I'm still waiting for that call.I’m extremely disappointed. It feels like my money was taken unfairly, and there was a real lack of transparency. Given my circumstances, I would have expected more compassion and honesty. I wouldn’t recommend this experience to anyone.

Truly life changing.

Truly life changing.. everyone working there is so genuine and caring, I was an anxious mess when I first arrived (agoraphobia sufferer with zero self confidence or self esteem) the ladies there are transforming the inside as well as the outside! I have been out of my house everyday since and have so much self worth it’s unbelievable!

Amazing from start to finish

Amazing from start to finish. The ladies are all so helpful from first booking until up to the viewing appointment. Helped me a lot with make up and hair as I was clueless, perfectly suited my face but not too heavy either. The photographer Jess was amazing also I was very nervous but she made me feel at ease and comfortable, directed me with poses and props. My photos looked absolutely gorgeous and I cannot wait to show them off. After having 3 children close together it was the perfect confidence boost I needed. Massively recommend to everyone to take the leap and get it done. Will definitely be returning

11 Hours of her life that my sister will never get back!

My sister who has issues regarding her body image was told that she had won a competition for a free photoshoot. What she didn't realise was that everyone who enters the competition wins the same prize! She asked my wife to drive her to Manchester from Somerset for the photoshoot. With time to charge the electric car and traffic, the journey took 4 hours each way. The 'shoot' took over 3 hours from signing in but that did include hair and makeup, so not as bad as it could have been. When the shoot was finished, they told her that she needed to book in again within 4 to 7 days to 'review the pictures'. Not easy when you have to consider 8 hours driving for a 1 hour appointment! She was absolutely made to feel that they wouldn't let her leave until she booked the follow-up appointment. This 'viewing appointment' is described as you sitting in a 'cinema-like environment' with drinks and popcorn while you're shown a slide show of your photos. Well worth 8 hours of driving for - NOT!Then there are the available packages which range in price from £645 (for 10 images on a USB key - even though the rest of the world has moved on from technology that old) through to £3160 for digital and printed images and a bonus printed canvas to put on your wall! At it's conception, you'd have paid less for a timeshare from the 'prize' scheme and at least you'd have got a weekend away into the bargain! Ironically, you'd probably have gone home with more than 30 photos as well!!! 🤣😂🤣😂 Their leaflet talks about the average spend being between £600 and £1200 (absolutely impossible when the lowest price is £645!). Surprise, surprise, they offer credit for people spending more than £700 - yet more hard sell to force people to spend more than the minimum! Of course, part of their hard sell is that they offer you 2 free images if you go back for the 'viewing' and that they'll 'refund' your deposit. What they mean by 'refund' is that they'll knock it off of their ridiculously expensive package prices! When my sister explained her difficulties in coming back, she was basically told that she had no choice and blackmailed with the potential return of her deposit if she returned. She was also told that they needed 4 days to 'edit the pictures' and that she had up to 7 days to book her return appointment giving her a 3 day window for that appointment. They were kind enough (or determined enough to try and rip her off further) to allow her to book an appointment on the bank holiday Monday! In the modern day and age, they offer no non-face-to-face alternative to viewing in person such as Zoom, Teams, Skype, or any of the other multitude of online applications, but insist that you have to be there in person. Why do they do this? They'll never admit it, but they do it because hard sell tactics don't work over the phone or online! This is NOT a scam but simply use of underhand and unfair techniques to sell someone something that they don't need or even really want! The scheme predates on those who have issues with their self esteem and body images and hopes that the £50 deposit with persuade them to throw good money that they don't really have after bad for an album of photos that realistically costs a few quid to put together! Get together with some girly friends and spend your day drinking Prosecco, doing hair and makeup, and having a huge laugh as you take photos of each other on your phones. You could even buy a decent printer, ink and photo paper to print your photos for less than your £50 deposits added together! Please don't get conned! I'm sure that if you're a model needing photos for a portfolio these photoshoots are worth it as a business expense, but for the average woman, they simply offer to make you feel better about yourself while actually leaving you feeling worse!!!

This was a great experience from start…

This was a great experience from start to finish. The team are all lovely and professional. The customer care was excellent as nothing was too much trouble and the team were happy to answer any questions. Hannah the photographer was amazing, she was very lovely and made the photo shoot really enjoyable as I did have some pre shoot nerves. I cannot recommend this experience enough as it was a real confidence boost and got to see myself looking and feeling confident in my own skin - which has been a very long time since I have felt this way. The attention to detail throughout was incredible and very well planned. The entire process was smooth and I was well informed and felt comfortable throughout the entire process.

truly amazing…customer service is incomparable

I cannot say enough how truly amazing this company is. The customer centric view is incomparable to anything I've ever experienced... From start to finish from even booking this experience, the enthusiasm the staff share with you just brings on so much excitement and anticipation. The staff really listen to what's important to you, how you want to look and feel, and make sure you feel the best you can on the day and everything there after. The photos are amazing and it's so hard not to love them all. Everything they do is about women empowerment and they really live up to that

"I'm gonna look like a potato!"

I won a photoshoot package with AWP. Let's be honest, the firm give these away as a way to get you to buy the resulting shots, but that's okay - it's business. I was so far out of my comfort zone here because I hate my appearance, but I was determined to do it. In reception was a lady who had just finished her shoot; she had incredible long legs in skinny jeans. I texted the friend I was staying with: "omg I'm gonna look like a potato". The ladies on reception settle you with a drink (I needed it).Make up and hair is a lovely experience, Shona was very sweet and patient with a clueless client, and now I have some ideas to refresh my own routines - thank you.The absolute star of this whole thing was photographer Jemma, who was either genuinely enthusiastic or should go into acting 🤣 She made me feel less awkward than normal, she made me laugh, and by the end of it all I could have hugged her except it would have been hugely inappropriate; I was stood in my pants and platform heels, and she's about four foot six. Because I'd travelled miles, I was able to view my pics the next day, which scared the bejesus out of me. I cried. Lots. And then I hid behind a cushion. But everyone here is kind and understanding.I was fully expecting a hard sell, but no. Didn't happen. I am super happy with my photos - I am still not convinced that it's actually me. I can't say I 100% enjoyed it; this was a difficult experience for me thanks to general anxiety and body dysmorphia though, and not a reflection on the shoot itself! Would I do it again? Hell yeah.
