Review Time
I would like to leave a review of my experience with Auctionera. Unfortunately my experience was not good and it goes against the gain for me to write a negative review.Bid was placed on a property. I was successful and place the deposit on the property within 48 hours. I engaged all the relevant parties banks, solicitors etc..No closing date had been agreed on the property straight away. Every month the closing date got pushed out. Four months on after the deposit was secured I asked for a price reduction as I was continuing to pay for rented accommodation and was still not given a closing date. I was threatened that the house was going to be put back on the market because of my request. Two months on still no update. Out of the blue I received a email saying if the contract was not signed by a certain date the house would be put back on the market. Contracts had not been signed as the Vendors solicitor had not responded to queries from my solicitor. Big rush I got the contracts signed ASAP and returned. Again back to radio silence. Finally a closing date was given 3/4 weeks. The closing date was cancelled and it was me that had to contact Auctionera as no one was returning my calls or responding to my emails. I was calling them several times a day. The closing date was pushed out again and then be told no closing date will be shared. It took 9 months to get the keys of the property. My mortgage approval ran out in this time. I had to go through the process again. No one from Auctionera met with us. We had to collected the keys from a reception desk of rented office. Unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience.
I bought a home recently and auctioneera were the vendor's estate agents. The experience overall was fairly poor. The agent who showed me around was generally polite and friendly but it turned out later that some important information he gave me was incorrect (the management fees were about €600/year more than was advertised, pets are not allowed). When I tried to renegotiate the sale price given the change in management fees, he was very slow to answer emails or respond to calls. He then quit and from then on I never had any contact with another real agent. Whenever I called, I got through to a call centre possibly in India. Everyone I spoke to was always polite but couldn't give me much information about the property, as they obviously weren't familiar with it, it was always "we will have to check with the vendor and get back to you", hence many questions went unanswered. I had to collect my keys from a shared office space in Dalkey: no one was there when I arrived and the keys were just left in an envelope on a table. I had asked for details regarding how to enter the complex: these were not provided and it took a week after getting the keys for the management company to give me access, something I could have organised sooner had auctioneera given me the information I asked for. This made moving house very stressful. Overall, while the people I spoke to were nice, this agency really is bare bones and makes very little effort to provide anything beyond the most basic service. I would not recommend.

Auctioneera is Ireland's largest fixed fee estate agency. Unlike other estate agents, who charge a commission of the final sales price of a property, often amounting to several thousand Euro, we charge a low fixed fee. Since our foundation in 2018, we have sold over 2000 properties worth over a billion Euro. We estimate that our clients have collectively saved in the region of ten million Euro in unnecessary estate agency fees. We offer a no sale, no fee service whereby our fee is discharged from the proceeds of the sale of the property. For these reasons, we think we are the logical choice for selling property in Ireland.See more
