Wowsers, the 'technical experts' in webmaster tools are absolutely useless. Wasted over an hour of my time and tell me to escalate it to Bing. This was even after remote screen sharing. They clearly do not know the content that users are seeing, off what they believe users are seeing. Clueless.
So I had been using Linux distribution so I had mostly used Google search or DuckDuckGo. But recently, I switch back to Windows and thought I would try Edge browser since it was built into Windows since I had not used it in some time. Of course Edge defaults to Bing search which now includes CoPilot AI as well. It really did not take me long to realize the results were just so bad for what I considered some rather vanilla type searches. I really expected better from Bing search especially now that AI is baked in. Even before AI I really had no issues with results in Google search or DuckDuckGo. Mostly satisfied with their results but Bing seems to be meddling in results to a point of steering results far more and in the wrong direction to boot. When you have to switch to another search engine just because Bing results were so off base. That's a telling sign that Bing needs a serious rethink of how it develops results.
This is interesting. I've been denying anything but necessary MS software since the advent of windows ens***ification. Only yesterday did I finally decided to relent by allowing windows full control of its tragic glory. All of its preinstalled apps, Edge, Outlook, Bing as my search engine etc. In further context, I have never encountered malware in active runtime since windows 3.1 Well, today was my day. Although, I can't take full credit for such an incredible event. That I must ascribe upon none other than Microsoft Edge and very specifically Bing.I did a routine search for crystal disk mark, having just performed a clean install. The usual download had fallen in search position, while the second result yielded a result found in the Microsoft Store, or so I thought...Downloaded, scanned, extracted, properties, researched, all things bing bing bing. Executed, MOTHERBOARD MAYHEM. Fan typhoon, ram locked, one drive doing its own human centipede. Cold restart at what had to have been max voltage across the whole system. PcAppStore almost assassinated my rig and Bing ushered it right in to the theater.I went to search after a restart and Bing told me that I need to be careful. I could not believe my 4:00 am eyes. Again, yes I clicked it. However, its position was elevated to the first non-sponsored result. I have never in my life had to worry about anything (provided such a common search term) being ranked in the top 10, let alone the 1st result, even using browsers far less prestigious in name than Bing.Anyway, I think I'm gonna put Windows back in the corner. It's taken me less than a day to see that Windows as they intend poses a much larger threat to my tech than anything I've used in the last 30 years.Negative one Bing. but I gave them 2 stars because I like the way Edge and other products seamlessly transition under one account control.Well, off wipe another SSD. Careful out there.
Get rid of the AI in your system. I don't need a computer telling me what I want to look at or site I want to visit. What a bunch of crap. I have started moving just to Google to eliminate your AI COPILOT.I know they use AI also but it seems to be less in your face.
