Review Time
The most valuable and highest priced item/offer was rejected, and then they just keep it, which doesn't seem right. They should at least offer to send it back at the seller's expense, if necessary. I know that book was in very good condition, so it's a bit suspicious. Had no issues with them previously, otherwise I would have given one star.
I just recently bought up a book from world of books and I was amazed. The kind of books they were interesting. Their delivery was also safe and I found the site amazing. I suggest you to try it once
I’m extremely disappointed with my recent experience. I sent in 22 books for trade, having carefully checked them against the company’s stated quality guidelines beforehand. Out of those 22 books, only 6 were approved.
What’s most frustrating is that 3 of the rejected books were literally brand new. They were recently received as gifts, read once, and were in excellent condition. These were also among the higher-value titles in my trade. I simply do not accept the explanation that the “pages were not clean,” as they were in near-perfect condition when sent.
After this happened, I looked at other reviews and noticed a pattern — particularly where higher-value books are rejected for allegedly not meeting quality standards. I also saw multiple customers mention receiving very similar responses from customer service (specifically from Phoebe), stating that items “do not meet our quality standards,” without providing any meaningful clarification.
If I had known that more than half of my books would be rejected — especially those in excellent condition — I would have donated them to a charity shop or given them to friends and family instead of risking them being recycled.
Based on this experience, I would not recommend using this company
I went on the website searching for vinyls of specific old albums I wanted to add to my collection, when the search results came up I read the descriptions, added them to my basket and purchased them. Today, CDs were delivered to my house. At no point during any of the communication (email confirmation and delivery emails) does it say that these were CDs. How ridiculous that the item title would not contain the media format, and that their rubbish website would take a search specifically for vinyls and give me CDs as a result (without saying anywhere that they are CDs)
There is no customer service, the phone number goes straight to an answerphone (lazy, unprofessional) and the online chat is basically a search engine to take you to FAQ answers.
Not a website I will ever be visiting again.
I just ordered a book today and things are already off to a wobbly start. I did not receive the email confirmation for my order. When I went back to look at the confirmation page I notice that I typed my email incorrectly. I do not have an account with this company so I tried to get customer service. Customer service is an AI bot that helped me zero percent. Where are the humans?! My problem is simple but I can't get any help for it! Yet another company that will cause itself to go out of business when people stop using its service because of unenlightened business practices. Now let's see if I actually get my book...Update: I did hear back from the help center in the US after I sent them an email (likely an AI bot) but my email address was corrected and I'm now receiving emails from the company.
Very very slow. Only took a few CD’s. Rest went to Music Magpie. Both Cherry pick and pay pennies.
Very slow pick up and then a very slow checking process followed by a very very slow payment process. Would not recommend for CD’s.
The scanning and mailing process worked fine.
The payment however did not. Wof Books said I hadnt sent all the books, when I had, unfortunately i took no photos. Not going to spend much time over a fiver. However i would never use them again.
They clearly steal your best value books for themselves.
Save yourslef a load of hassle take your books to British Heart Foundation and get a tax cerdit that is worth more than you get from these robbers.
Crap as ever! 14 days after receiving my books they agreed to pay me after I chased. Think they lost my order internally. Had enough now, keep giving them chance after chance after chance. Will never use them again
I sold books to a company after agreeing to an initial offer of £5.49. Once they received the books, they reassessed them without my consent and lowered the payment to £2.29. I wasn't given the choice to accept or reject this new amount before it was finalized. Additionally, they kept books they deemed to have 'zero value' without my permission and did not ask if I wanted them returned. There was no consultation at any point; the decisions were made unilaterally. This experience felt unjust and lacked transparency. If a service alters its offer after receiving items, customers should be clearly asked for approval and given the option to retrieve their items.
The platform is quite user-friendly. While they don't provide extensive options for selling books, it’s advisable to attempt selling on other platforms first. Due to shipping costs, competing with certain alternatives can be challenging. They serve as a backup option, but I prefer to believe that the books eventually find a new owner.
