Stevenage garden centre is fairly local to us ...I popped in there (with my little dog) whilst waiting for my wife who was at the Lister Hospital, I ordered a sandwich & a pot of tea at the exorbitant price of £12.28 which I thought was a lot ...nice surroundings & comfortable seating but the person serving me, his mannerism reminded me of Basil Fawlty

Disappointing Experience at the New Restaurant

My wife and I opted to dine at the new restaurant at the garden center. While ordering at one of the tills, the young lady assisting the customer ahead of me struggled to process his voucher. Two other staff members attempted to help, but it took several minutes for a more experienced employee to step in. She noticed the growing queue and suggested to her colleagues to assist other customers. Not the best start. I selected the Italian Chicken while my wife chose a baked potato with coleslaw. We had to fetch our own cutlery, napkins, and sauces, which were not conveniently located near the tills, and this wasn't communicated during ordering. Our meals were brought to the table, but the waitress, who took my order and whom I’ll refer to as Annie, quickly left before I could inquire about the cutlery. The baked potato arrived without butter, so I asked Annie for some as she passed by. After waiting several minutes with no butter, I went to the till to request it. The Italian Chicken was acceptable, though the salad was dry and bland. My wife's baked potato was tough, making it inedible. The coleslaw was merely chunks of red cabbage with a minuscule amount of dressing, and the cabbage itself was hard. When Annie came to clear our plates, I mentioned the potato was unsatisfactory, and she simply replied that she would inform the kitchen staff, lacking any apology. I also expressed my concerns about the service, but again, no acknowledgment was offered. The restaurant was not busy at 3pm, with only about 15 patrons present. The atmosphere was nice, and it seemed like a great place to enjoy a meal. Sadly, the service and food fell short this time.

Cafe very grubby....

This review is for the cafe at Wolseley Bridge Garden Centre, Stafford. I go there quite often with my mum as we like the garden centre (which is still excellent) and we've always had a good experience with the cafe until yesterday... Unfortunately, the table we sat at was sticky and I had to find napkins to clean it. My meal was very average but my mum's meal was

Disappointing Experience at Santa's Grotto

We attended the quiet session of Santa's grotto last week with my non-verbal disabled child. In previous years, the visits had been absolutely wonderful. However, this time felt rushed; the Santa didn't look the part and seemed to expect a response despite having been informed in advance about my child's needs. Unlike previous years, there were no activities like making reindeer dust or decorating cookies. The staff appeared cold and eager to leave. The entire visit with Santa lasted only two minutes, which was disappointing, especially since we had a much better experience at another location. For £25 per child, it was definitely not worth it! After discussing with other parents, I found they were also let down, with one child even being reprimanded by staff for their behavior. I've reached out via email but received no response. The toy given was a simple air car that costs around £6 at most; my child had a much more enjoyable visit from his local football team! It's hard to believe how much the experience has declined.

Christmas cushions.

I purchased a pair of Christmas cushions for a family member. A lovely lady called Annie tried to call me and when she didn’t get through then emailed me to let me know she had searched around and couldn’t find the pair that I ordered and offered me a replacement. Annie then proceeded to send me a picture of an alternative pattern which I was happy with and accepted. Annie then proceeded to let me know that they would arrive in time for Christmas. I am very satisfied with the customer support from this company and wouldn’t hesitate to use them again.

Went to the quiet session of Santa's grotto last week with my non verbal disabled child. We have taken him previous years and have been absolutely amazing. The whole experience was rushed, he didn't resemble santa, spoke to him and expected a response despite previously giving the details before hand. There was no reindeer dust making or cookie decorating like previous years, the staff were freezing and couldn't wait to get home. The whole santa visit was 2mins and out and no issues visited santa at hayes book either. For £25 a child it most definitely wasn't worth it ! After speaking to other parents they were also disappointed one resulting in a disabled child being shouted at by a member of staff for their behavior!!!! I've emailed with 0 response. The toy was an air car that he can't play with that cost £6 at most he had a much more pleasant and compassionate visit from his home football team ! I actually can't believe how much it's declined.

Fabulous Christmas Grotto

We took our two young grandsons to the Christmas grotto at Hornsea Garden Centre yesterday and it was amazing, we were in nearly an hour and occupied the whole time. The staff were so well organised and friendly, they went the extra mile to make it special. It's not cheap but it was worth every penny. This is not simply a visit to Santa It's much much more.

Business must be good!

Business must be good!I wanted to buy a reasonable amount of mature hedging from your WIMBORNE centre so phoned for a price. No answer (mid afternoon) but kept getting returned to 'reception' So, I emailed them 3 days ago to say 'please give me a call' Have they bothered? Like hell they have. Never mind, there is a much larger competitor just down the road and loads of online options. Good luck guysUpdate: Don't worry guys, you've missed the boat! Now and forever.

Parking jobs worth attendant needs his P45. Visited today with our 3 month old grandson who was crying wanting feeding. Parking was hard to find as it was busy. A spot came available, but the jobs worth wouldn’t let us go in it as we were holding up the queue. Even though he could hear the baby crying, he refused to let us. He was rude and arrogant. Just a shame I didn’t get his name.
