I reported that our carbon monoxide alarm went off very early on a Sunday morning. I was given excellent advice on the phone, and assured that a gas engineer would be with us within the hour, as indeed he was. The Cadent gas engineer checked both our boiler and our neighbours boiler meticulously, found both were in good working order, and then traced the source of the leak to our wood burning stove, and advised us accordingly. An excellent reassuring service. Thank you.
The two engineers from Cadent were great - efficient, friendly, kind and helpful. They did as much as possible but the final step had to be taken by my suppliers. The Cadent engineers contacted Ovo for me and did all the explaining. I was just telling some friends today what a positive experience it was. Thanks!
Gas Engineer arrived within the hour as promised. He carried out a very thorough search, locating the gas leak. Having given us a number of options, it was agreed that the gas supply to the Rangemaster Cooker (the cause of the leak) would be closed off. As we didn’t have facilities to boil/cook food on the hob, he kindly provided us with a single ring electric hob. The engineer was respectful of our home, wearing shoe protectors when inside . He was calm and polite, reassuring us of the danger that we were exposed to. Thoroughly recommend calling Cadent should a gas leak be detected.
Engineer was on site within 10mins. He was friendly and knowledgeable. He quickly identified and isolated the problem, leaving my elderly mum with her heating on. I can’t thank him enough for helping out and explaining in simple terms the fault.
Disgusted with Cadent had gas pipes issues as when the works were done in the area they put a pipe in that had a small hole they were unable to find this on nervous occasions as there cameras could not get through this took over a year to find also once they have done this they decided that the drive way needed to be dug which they went ahead prior to this as the gas meter needed changing one the of workers wanted us to make a decision within 2 mins and started to swear on our property i had to tell there manager that was there to get him removed and taken off our private property. Decisions needed to be made and they would not give us the time, also the manager said if we don’t move the meter we would never have our gas back on and there would be nothing more that they can do. Now the fun starts the reinstatement team is even worse, the grass verges were damaged and we’re supposed to be put back this has taken 5 attempts and still looks like a dogs dinner we have been waiting 2 months yo have the pressure wash to clean the mess a that they have made, and e are still waiting for this. All the time the answer is will be done this day and that day but still to no avail. They have ruined our home easy for Cadent to use theirs party contractors who do not turn up and they have no control over. In my opinion they should not have the contract to deal with out me gas supplies as they are a cow boy company, we still have not been compensated or it even mentioned, there is a vulnerable person at the property and they always as but what’s the point hen you stress out families and damage there homes am sure they would not stand for this if it is there homes.
After having the gas meter changed by Morrison Data Services on behalf of EDF, we were left with a smell of gas in the garage which they said was only temporary. It wasn't! After telephoning Cadent, they sent an engineer called Dexter within an hour. Dexter put us at ease, and quickly traced the source of the leak to the soldered pipe done by Morrison. Dexter replaced the pipe and checked for any further leaks from the meter and even checked inside the house. A big thank you to Dexter and the customer service centre.
Carbon monoxide detector going off early morning. Phoned gas contractor who told me to phone has emergency I told them it was flashing as faulty just wanted noise to stop they insisted I call emergency. I did was told turn off everything open Windows doors ect even though I did state it was saying faulty. Engineer was here within 30 mins checked everything was not bothered by faulty alarm his opinions better safe than sorry. Explained everything to me was really helpful . Fantastic service liked the idea that they treated it as an emergency and did not take my word that it was faulty .
