Review Time
I could smell a strong smell in my garage for a few days. My family said I should have a gas check. The gasEngineer came soon after I called. He did a thorough gas check and assured me there was no gas leak. It was very assuring as I live on my own. The engineer was very friendly and polite. He had a look round the garage and discovered a large tin of a chemical that was leaking. My Son had been storing it there, so the problem was solved.
Brilliant experience. We called because we smelled gas, the lady on the phone explained us how to close the gas while we waited for the engineer to check. He arrived in less than an hour, did a thorough check, was very polite and respectful of the property (even took off his shoes before stepping on the rug). He reassured us that there was no leak in our home (as it turned out, there was one at the neighbour's house, hence the smell) and told us to always call them if in doubt.
They came out very quickly. The gentleman discovered the issue quickly and capped off the leak. He kindly spoke with my husband on the phone to let him know what the issue was and then conducted a gas check of the whole house. He then left me with a free hot plate. Genuinely a 10/10 service.
I contacted Cadent through the emergency number in my meter box.They were with me within a few hours, detected the leak and made safe.The engineer directed me back to my supplier and when he heard I was struggling with them, he went the extra mile and spoke to them on my behalf. The engineer was brilliant. Professional, courteous and explained things to me in a way I understood. I am quite nervous around anything to do with gas.A few days later I had a courtesy call from Cadent to see if everything was in working order. He was brilliant too. Fantastic service.As I was post op, after a full hip replacement, Cadent arranged an oil filled radiator, an electric throw and a long hot water bottle to be delivered the next day as it was unclear how long my gas was going to be off. It arrived next day. I was extremely grateful as my gas was off for a few more days due to follow on services with other companies.Why can't all gas suppliers/contractors be as professional and caring as Cadent.
