This review relates to a very helpful and professional visit by Harry Brown (pay no.60008484)This is my first Trust pilot review but I wanted to record my thanks for a really helpful and reassuring service provided by Harry.My carbon monoxide alarm went off yesterday and Harry from cadent arrived to check everything. He took the the time to explain what he was doing and was extremely thorough, repeatedly checking gas and CO levels. I would like to thank Harry again for his excellent approach and fantastic customer service.
Had a gas problem at home and called Cadent gas, our engineer Neil came shortly after. Neil was very professional and friendly, he evacuated us immediately and made sure the house was 100% safe before going back in. He double checked everything and made us feel very comfortable and satisfied with his work.
Work was being carried out outside my property that I own, they dug the pathway up and left me with no access to my driveway and then when I asked them to allow me access they left loose tarmac over the pathway which has been walked into my house and all over my carpet. When I complained to them they offered me £50 which doesn’t cover the cost of the damage nor a professional carpet cleaning company to come out to clean the carpet. When I declined their offer I was basically told to go to the financial ombudsman! Worst customer service and complaints process from a company I’ve ever dealt with.
A complete lack of communication. It's a company that, as you can see from the replies on TrustPilot give everyone the same generic response of "We would like to investigate this further..." No you wouldn't, and don't which is why you have such a poor rating.
I have to congratulate Ryan and his hardworking team who have recently changed the main’s gas pipe and feeds to each house along my street. The houses have been built in the 1920’s at different times, resulting in a mess of difficult connections to each house, this has meant that the project to change the pipes has been far more difficult than normal. However, throughout this work Ryan and his team have been hard working, polite and communicative in everything they have done. Given the circumstances, I would like to say thank you and appreciate the hard work you have done.Well done guys.Les Barnes No 14
An appalling experience from start to finish! From digging on our property to setting up the meter, nothing was done right.We were left without heating or hot water, despite being assured the work wouldn’t impact us. They seemed completely clueless, blaming British Gas for everything—terrible workmanship and customer service. It’s clear that wecare at Cadent Gas does anything but care! Judging by all the negative reviews, many others share my frustrations. Who’s truly accountable here?We had no water, resorting to using the gym’s facilities, while a dismissive customer advisor brushed off our complaints as if they were just ticking boxes. They even admitted their team caused damages but expect the homeowner to cover the costs. What an awful company to deal with—or work for.
Cadent came to put in new pipes last October. Firstly they sent round workmen with no ID trespassing and looking like they were planning burglary. Caused me loads of problems. They did a lot of damage including knocking down a fence. Took them over 4 months to fix. Useless project managers who never responded. Other damage some of it very expensive. They denied some and refused to pay. Horrible to deal with. They laid a wire behind our back door. I tripped over it. Awful experience. Workmen were very decent once we knew their ID but managers appalling. Attitude of not giving a damn.
Cadent have been replacing pipework from mains to meters in my area. This has been happening along two roads and must have involved at least 15 households. They've worked together as a team and have done all they can to minimise obstructions - not easy on narrowish roads and the need for barriers. Inconvenient - yes, but very well managed, with updates by one of the team to say when anything will be happening. Well done.
Not used this company personally but if you’re ever out driving and see this company doing works, be prepared for it to never be finished in the time frame they publicly announce, be prepared to sit in traffic for who knows how long whilst you just see these workers sitting in their vans, usually asleep. This company causes chaos anywhere they’re doing work! Hopefully councils stop using this company.
