Review Time
The salesman was very knowledgeable, friendly and professional (he gets a 5-star for his part). The installers did a good job but there were a couple of issues we discovered after they left: (1) a very significant draft was coming in under the newly installed patio door (resolved-another technician came by the following week and adjusted the threshold) (2) the windows had significant smudges and sticky stuff, especially on the upper level windows (required a ladder to clean--we took care of it, but the installers should not have left us with dirty windows (3)the screen latch for the patio door has still not been installed--it was missing at the time of installation and we were told it had to be ordered (several weeks) (4) water blew in under a section of the glass wall during a thunderstorm--took photos and sent to Champion--someone is scheduled to look at it 2/26 to find the problem. UPDATE: We received a confirmation for 2/26 for 9:00-12:00; however, no one showed up. My husband called Champion and was told that she could not find an appointment for us. My husband forwarded the confirmation email that we had received. She then stated that there must be a problem with scheduling at the Pelham, AL office and that someone would call Monday, March 1, to reschedule. We still had not received a call by March 3rd, so I called to inquire. The person taking the call indicated that the “no show “ complaint had not been entered and that she would enter it and also put an “urgent “ notation on another request to have someone call and reschedule an appointment. She confirmed all of our contact information. Today is March 8th (afternoon) and we have not been contacted. I just don’t know what to do at this point. This is just really poor customer service at the local level. I am therefore changing the rating to 3 stars due to poor customer service.
This is my second poor review. It has now been four months since the wrong window was installed in my first floor bathroom. The window was supposed to be frosted but the one installed was clear. FOUR MONTHS. It has been weeks since I reported that a window that is suppose to crank open does not open. I've called and been told that they'll get in touch with me....but I hear nothing. Is Champion still in business?
The entire process from sales through installation was very customer-friendly. Don was very knowledgeable and gave us all the information we needed to make a wise purchase. The installation actually came about a month and a half EARLIER than we expected, so we had new windows through the entire winter. Our house is warm and comfortable, even during the snowpocalypse we just experienced. My only regret is that we didn't do this 20 years ago.
We had new windows and doors installed recently. Very happy with them . Made a huge difference in noise reduction. Also a big energy saver. Installation was great even though we had a few problems with the doors. In the end we are so happy with everything that was done.
The installers were the best. They worked hard to make sure my windows were installed fast and complete. They showed respect for me and my house. They even helped me repair a hole in my basement they found. (I could not have fixed this hole myself) I am so grateful for there care and help
