I am just sick about this. I fear my faith in Champion Windows of Atlanta has caused me to make a grievous error that may impact our family home forever. We had Champion siding on our old house, so we added it to our new home. As far as I know there is no problems with the siding, so, we had no reason not to have faith in their windows or installation crew. We had $21,000 worth of windows installed last month (Nov. 2020). The installation shortcuts that I noticed being taken caused me to have a production supervisor visit. He had his workers rework a couple of windows. Now, a month later every sliding window leaks cold air into rooms. This morning the sliding window in our den registered 38.8 deg. air flowing from the seal on the side. House temp 68 deg. After taping over the seal, it registered 61 deg. Plus while taping the seal, found standing water in the windowsill corner below the leaking seal. We never had water there in the previous 17 years. service department states 60-90 days. I wish I had studied the complaints more. I threw caution to the wind without thinking how good your product could be if your backlog of service calls is out 3 months. I will update this if Champion ever responds or repairs anything. We may be on our own and may be paying for this mistake the rest of our lives, well after we payoff Champion. Wish I could upload photos. It is difficult to describe how disappointed I am in Champion. Heaven knows what is going on behind the seal. From the reviews I have read here, I am fearing the worse.UPDATEChampion sent a tech by to look at the window. An extremely nice gentleman named Will. He could not find a reason for the draft. All we could do was ask him to seal around the inside trim to block the air. Before hanging our new blinds, I personally did the same to the remaining windows. That effort made a huge difference in our inside temperature. We are apparently the first to ever have this issue as well as the first to ever complain about the "un-necessary" weep holes on the sliding windows allowing the outside air in. Service manager said I would have to sign a waiver to have the plug the weep holes, we passed of course. All I can suggest is 1) inspect the windows carefully when they arrive, we have found several defects, they do not appear to affect the functionality so we will leave them and 2) monitor the installation. Not all workers on the crew will work to the same standard. I do not intend to call Champion out again unless a catastrophy happens. I hate being told I am the first to complain about something that is completely obvious. Best of luck everyone and Happy New Year.
Champion Windows Office in San Antonio is terrible, do not answer phones, emails, lie about when products will be available, etc. I have asked their Corporate office I to step in. Their install manager told me it didn’t matter if I contacted Corporate, it would just come back to him, this guy needs fired!!!
I have never had a better time with any salesman as I did with Dean Platt. He was very knowledgeable and took his time in making sure we were comfortable with our investment of our home. Purchased windows from him and Champion. Thank you, Dean. I hope that you are blessed beyond measure for your dedication.
I placed my order for 2 doors in May 2020. My doors were finally installed in October 2020. The installer scratched and dented the pecan finish framing (3 sides). Then he smudged over it with small bottles of paint which he left with me. He broke the doorbell and damaged the outside pecan framing. ON the back he left a 2 inch gap from my tile to the floor plate. He installed a pecan floor plate with my white back door and white framing. Then he told me that was what the company gave him and left. I have been calling and filing service request for two months. Almost no response from them. One call and one email from corporate office stating they have received the request. This company has no consideration for their customers as proven by their polices/contract that they must receive their money before they order the doors. Then you are locked into the contract. NO one has called and champion does not receive repair calls. I have dialed every number on the contract and on their website. The Todd Dickson CEO answering message is an irritating joke. They never answer. You can be on hold for 30 minutes and NO one answers. Left a message once with Nick the manager of customer service and of course he didn't call back. If the BBB can't help me then I will be calling a local TV station for help. I have one income and this was a lot of money (supposedly an investment) for me. I am totally frustrated and dissappointed in their poor quality of work.
I am writing this on behalf of my brother, who is disabled and I have Power of Attorney. On October 13, 2020, I had an entry door and storm door installed by Champion. During the installation, my doorbell was broken. The installers said that they would be back the next day to replace it (not before asking if I had another doorbell). After 2 weeks and at least 4 telephone calls, the installers finally arrived to fix the doorbell. Jump to present, my door now will not shut. The first call to Champion was placed on 11/11/2020. After 15 minutes on hold, finally was able to talk with a representative. On 11/13/2020, I received an email stating they were processing the order, but gave no order number and said that it would be at least 90 days before I would be contacted. On 11/18/2020, another email was received and stated that the order was in process and that I did not need to take any more action. Also stated "do not contact us." Champion was again called that day. After several rounds of representatives, and getting yelled at, I was transferred to "a manager." Of course, it was voicemail. A message was left. I then called the corporate headquarters and was transferred to Nick, the customer care manager. Again, a voicemail. A detailed message was left. 11/19/2020, another message was left. 11/20/2020, another message was left. I have yet to be contacted by Champion in any fashion. My door will not shut, which lets in rain, air, and bugs. When this process started, my installation was less than 30 days.
My windows look great! The installers were friendly and professional and got the job done in a timely manner. They even went above and beyond when they found the wood trim around the outside of my bathroom window was damaged and they fixed it. Great job!
