Champion's siding rep, Bron is very knowledgeable about the products he sells. He help me decide which Champion product was going to work best. He also price matched a competing bid for the work. I'm quite satisfied with the service. I also have Champion windows and am happy with them.
Our sales person did an okay job working with us prior to installation; however, installation was awful. The original install of the two windows in our condo took place on July 26. The interior caulking job looked worse than what I might have done. The installer also told us that inspections were now done by pictures sent via email so we didn't need to have the City come out to inspect. His work was so poor ... there was a gap between the top of the window and the brick opening for the building in both windows he installed. There is no way the work would have passed an inspection. Champion did make arrangements for the windows to be re-installed in the same week. However, there were several issues that needed to be dealt with prior to the work finally being completed on Aug. 21. And we did have a City inspection because the first installer was not correct when he said we didn't need to do this. We received a bill for our final payment before the inspection. We paid a lot of money for the windows and our final payment was $792. We asked for "forgiveness" on this final payment due to the problems with the original install and completion of the second install and all the corrections that needed to be done after the second install. $792 is a small amount to Champion but is a big amount to us. We told Champion forgiving the final payment would go along way in providing good customer service. Their response was that they don't do adjustments or price reduction to contracts after the sale and also said there is no warranty on the windows until contracts are paid in full.Also, our condo association requires casement windows with a "crank out" handle. The handles on Champion windows are very cheap. I've seen handles on Andersen windows that are far superior.We highly recommend working with a company other than Champion.
All Champion would need to do was communicate and complete the project as promised. As soon as the sales person had my 1/3 check, I never heard from her again. No information could be obtained from the local nor the corporate offices as to a timeline. The windows themselves are poorly manufactured. The screens have holes and are unraveling. Seams holding the window frames together are sloppy. Putty is visible inside the double panes. There are gaps in the metal frame joints. The finished installation is very disappointing. There are gaps in caulking both inside & out that will fill with fine sand. Worksite was left littered with debris. Window broken in transit was installed, though glass chips continue to fall on my carpet. I can expect to wait 6-8 weeks for the replacement.My calls, texts & emails to Champion have yielded no action. No customer service, only lip service.When I sent photos to the Regional manager, he did NOT say it was an anomaly and that he would work to immediately correct this unique error. This is SOP for Champion. His reaction demonstrates this.I am not crazy, nor am I a fool for demanding Champion's products and services for which I have paid and was promised. I strongly resent being treated like I am.
After the last word of smooth talk trickery is spoken, before the ink of your signature on the contract is even dry - they POUNCE, taking you down: hook, line and sinker! They’ve flawlessly mastered the process to ensure every cent you’ve paid will never leave their tight-fisted greedy hold! Unfortunately, I slid down their trap and cannot find anyone remotely willing to assist me! Yet, I continue receiving irritating calls from various employees wanting to set a date to “measure” my windows. Not one of my text, voicemail, or email messages which outlined the problems have been acknowledged! Even messages to the sales rep who came to my home aren’t returned! What a sham of a business! Stay far away and steer clear of this money trap! Once you’re suckered in - it’s too late for common courtesy or customer service- it’s nonexistent!
John Kucera was our sales rep; John was so help from he took his time showing us all about the Windows and our siding, and the best thing about John he was a straight shoot. If John did not know the answer to any of our question, he would reach to one of the project managers Andy and Andy would be able to answer it. the whole team at the Charlotte show room was and is amazing. thank you, John, for making the experience a great one, and thank you for feeling like you were talking to us like one or friends.
John was friendly, professional and very detailed. I really appreciated all the information he gave me regarding how the windows are built and what specifically is covered by the warranty. I know I will be very happy with my new windows. Thank you, Champion and John!
