She always made our family’s comfort and convenience a priority, making sure to arrange our trip to accommodate the needs of each of our family members, even making last minute changes as circumstances changed. She is the utmost professional and I trusted her advice from where to go to how to arrange each day and she was always on call before and during our trip. The main factor that made us choose China Highlights for this trip is because of our trip planner/ coordinator Bert HU. He is highly responsive, flexible to accommodate the needs of clients, and patient with our requests. He is also able to provide comprehensive answer to our questions. In sum, we feel confident that we will be well taken care of during the trip.We travelled to Yunnan (incl. Dali, Lijiang, Shangri La) and had a range from sight seeing, outdoor to local cultural activities. We particularly enjoyed the Yuhu Village home visit. The ground support from local guides was prompt and timely. If I had to offer a suggestion for improvement, I would say that the guides can ask for feedback at the end of day one, instead of at the end of the trip sector. Thank you China Highlights for showing us this beautiful part of China!
Recently my family went on a Zhangjiajie-Guilin trip with the above. I have liaised with Bert Hu of China Highlights to arrange an itinerary for us. China Highlights has been a pleasure to deal with. From Glory Mo (who was our travel advisor) to our guides (Wen and Peter) to our drivers, everyone was reliable, friendly, knowledgeable and made our travel so much more enjoyable. We enjoyed a 10-day Shanghai-Hangzhou-Suzhou tour planned by China Highlights in early June 2025. It was well-planned by Carol Wang, who adjusted the suggested itinerary to include free days, Shanghai Disneyland, and activities more suited for our 2 boys upon request. Carol also cautioned us on our initial travel dates as it coincided with a public holiday in China, so we shifted our trip a few days to avoid the crowd. All the hotels booked were very nice and convenient.Our guides in Shanghai (Karen), Hangzhou/Wuzhen (Susan) and Suzhou (Frank) were all personable, professional and knowledgeable, and gave us lots of insight into not only the history and background of the cities and sights, but also current trends and technology in China. They gave tips on food and places to go in our spare time. They could all switch smoothly between fluent English and Mandarin to accommodate our understanding, and made sure that all the transfers and hotel/train/airport check-ins were smooth (including Peter + driver who just sent us to the airport). The accompanying drivers were all polite, friendly and the cars clean, comfortable and well-stocked with water.Parts for improvement:- While the food ordered for lunches was great with a wide selection of local specialties, perhaps the budget for 2 adults + 2 kids could have been adjusted lower as we ended up with too much food and felt bad for the wastage.All in all, an enjoyable trip to China and we'd recommend China Highlights for a seamless experience.
My wife and I took a tour in China in June of this year. Carol Wang of China Highlights helped planning and implementing a private tour for just two of us. We were a couple of 79-years-olds (now 80) with a desire to take long afternoon naps every day. So, Carol tailor-made an itinerary for the tour for us. Our experience was great! We feel refreshed every day. We now think we are not too old to travel, and we have already planned for another trip next March with China Highlights.Our tour starts May 27 and ends on June 15, 2025. During the tour, we enjoyed a Yangtze River Cruise and stayed in Chongqing, Chengdu, and Kunming for several days. We appreciated very much the local tour guides, including Mr. Peter Pan at Chongqing, Ms. Sammi at Chengdu, and Ms. Selena Xue at Kunming. All the guides are fluent in English and Mandarin. They were knowledgeable, kind, and helpful. I feel the hotels were far better than the 4-star hotels I experienced in the US. The hotel staffs gave friendly and efficient service and did not accept tips. The breakfasts served in the hotels each day were feasts that are better than anything I had experienced.
