An Unforgettable China Adventure with My Mum 🇨🇳I’ve just returned from the most incredible trip to China with my mum, and it truly exceeded all expectations. We managed to see and experience so much in a relatively short time, covering huge distances seamlessly – it was brilliantly organised from start to finish by the brilliant Carrie at China highlights. All the stress was taken away by the detailed organisation. We began in Beijing, where our fantastic guide Ethan showed us the awe-inspiring Great Wall of China and the magnificent Forbidden City. Both were absolute bucket-list moments, and Ethan’s knowledge really brought the history to life.Next stop was Xi’an, guided by the brilliant Ken. The Terracotta Army was a true highlight – something you have to see to believe. What made our time there even more special was Ken kindly inviting us to his home for lunch with his wife. It was such a warm, authentic experience and something we’ll never forget.In Chengdu, Yolanda guided us around the adorable Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, and we also visited the breathtaking Leshan Giant Buddha. Seeing the pandas up close was magical, and Leshan was simply stunning.We then travelled to Chongqing, an enormous and fascinating city. Sadly we only had one day there, but Marianne was so kind and energetic that we packed in so much it genuinely felt longer. An amazing mix of old and new China.In Guilin, we were guided by the wonderful Kevin through the spectacular limestone karst scenery – absolutely postcard-perfect landscapes that felt almost surreal.Our final stop was Shanghai, where the passionate Sean showed us all the main sights and plenty of hidden extras. It was the perfect vibrant, modern contrast to the historic sites earlier in the trip.Everything ran incredibly smoothly – guides were always waiting for us at train stations, hotels were centrally located and very comfortable, and the Chinese bullet trains were impressively punctual. We also loved experiencing the culture and the build-up to Chinese New Year, which made the atmosphere even more special.All of our guides were experienced, knowledgeable, spoke excellent English, and even kindly bought us small gifts – such thoughtful touches.This trip was varied, efficient, culturally rich and completely unforgettable. A truly amazing experience to share with my mum – memories we’ll treasure forever. Highly recommend! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
