Okay, heads up, this is going to sound so odd and very specific: After watching Matilda, I got this sudden urge to buy a box of chocolates like the ones Matilda steals from Miss Trunchbull's mansion in that little box. My problem is that there aren't many chocolate providers in the UK that do this. What I was looking for was a box of chocolates with no plastic packaging smothering the box, and have individually handmade chocolates. Many chocolates you find in the UK are delicious but very uniform with the same design. To me, it really sucks the fun and creativity out of a box of chocolates! Chococo manages to make beautiful chocolates, all with a unique design (just like the ones from Matilda!) They are fresh and plastic free! I'm very happy with the purchase and delivery. I wanted to find a unique, hand made, awarded chocolatier that was made in the UK and provided a different type of chocolate. When I found Chococo I was immediately impressed with the uniqueness of the offered flavours and that each was handmade. The freshness is evident as the delivered chocs has a 2 week shelf life which assures freshness, quality, and premium taste. Do not put the chocs in the fridge as it will affect the taste - keep them at room temperature.A word of advice, quite a few of the selection provided are dark chocolate and some are very strong so if you aren't into strong tasting chocolate then go with the cheaper brand (which is more mainstream but lesser volume cocoa %Very happy with the selection and they taste amazing.
I ordered some Easter treats a few weeks ago and selected them for delivery this week as I knew we wouldn’t be able to hold out! They arrived a day early (great!) and were beautifully wrapped and absolutely DELICIOUS. Some of the best chocolate we have had in a long time. Would recommend.
Bought chocolates a few times as gifts but, from discreet later enquiries, the response overall has been "rather average" - so disappointing. I'll be going back to my (short and getting shorter) list of tried & trusted makers.
Ordered 4 items and unfortunately the large easter egg arrived damaged. Raised the concern via email and a replacement was sent out immediately and arrived 2 days later which was great. Possibly my new favourite chocolate! Great service and product will definitely be repurchasing.:)
Not great to substitute out the specifically valentine-themed chocolate in a valentine's box (when you make them yourself, it seems fair enough to make enough to fulfil the orders to which you've committed). No notification of this as a courtesy, either in the delivery or via email. Emailed to say I wasn't pleased, and nothing back after more than a week. Other than an instant auto-reply to say 'bear with us as we're a small team'. If you're a company that cares then that seems a poor excuse and clearly responding isn't a priority. Their chocolates taste nice but aren't cheap, and as these guys don't seem to be bothered about customer service, I'd rather spend my money elsewhere.
Bought these chocolates as a treat for Christmas, really excited to try them after reading 'The Independent rate our Cascade of 50 chocolates their 'Best Buy' in their review of the best luxury chocolate boxes' just shows they have no idea of what tastes good.They’re bitter and lack taste!I'm no chocolate expert, the only chocolates I've had that have won awards are monty bojangles and they're delicious, so expensive lesson learned, you can't always trust the awards and reviews.
I agree with the other recent reviewer. I got the Christmas box of chocolate. The menu was huge but not specific to the chocolates in the box and they were difficult to identify. Mostly dark chocolate, luckily I like dark chocolate. However the descriptions didn’t match the eating. The flavours were pretty nondescript, very similar. Overall very disappointing. I thought I was going to be impressed considering how expensive they were. I wouldn’t buy again.
