Review Time
There are two features misssing. Sharings screen with sound (it's really time-consuming uploading everything) and folders. If I had the possibility of putting the uploaded contents in folders it would be easier to use. During lessons I waste time on finding things I want to use.
ABSOLUTE GARBAGE! The platform is unstable at best. We've been plagued with problems since the get go.Over 100 events and counting. Sometime it works, sometimes it doesn't. For the price it's unacceptable to simply "roll the dice" and pray the platform is working today.
I signed up for one month at £25 and was billed £30, apparently VAT was added but it was not clear. Next I tried to change the name of the account and wanted to bill me £7 to change the name. Turned off, I cancelled within an hour of signing up. Their initial stance was that they refused to issue a refund because they are not obligated to. Later on, I got the refund. The technology itself is ok. Don't like that their Logo was loudly on display during the call, especially if I am paying for it.UPDATE: They ended up refunding me in full.
ClickMeeting uses price discrimination and violates multiple Europe Union laws, especially Article 102 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and Price Discrimination actEveryone can see the evidence easily – signup for free trial account and select Upgrade. For example, if you try to signup for"Automated" plan, it costs 39 EUR (plus VAT) a month. Now… Change your country to Poland - the same plan costs only 75 ZL, which is only 16 EUR!It’s absolutely illegal to offer different pricing for different countries in EU, and ClickMeeting should already know it. I'm going to report it to the authorities.P.S. Their reply is a blatant lie. so let me prove it:1. "cost of developing infrastructure and purchasing it in other locations" - in some countries infrastructure is way cheaper than in Poland, but price is higher. Also, they do NOT have infrastructure in every country, but price in these countries is still higher.2. "cost of translating the account panel" - what a lie once again. Their control panel is only available in a few languages, but they triple the price for all non-Poland residents, even if website has no panel in their language.3. "webinar room, product & legal documentation to other languages" - once again, not true, see my reply #2.4. "employing staff that speaks foreign languages" - a double lie. They don't provide support in every available language, which means they don't hire that many staff. Even if they would, monthly wages are much lower in some countries than in Poland, so the price of their service in these countries should be lower. But it's 300% higher.5. "cost of international legal and tax consultations" - they "forgot" to mention that legal and tax consultations are also absolutely needed in their home country too, but their price for Poland residents is still 300% lower.Also, here's the exact quote from Europe Consumer Center website to prove that ClickMeeting response is a big lie - "when you buy electronically supplied services (such as cloud services or website hosting), you are entitled to have access to the same prices as local buyers." Hope this post will keep many people away from this shady company from Poland.
We evaluated all the popular webinar platforms before selecting ClickMeeting. We using ClickMeeting for few years. Clickmeeting to be easy to use and navigate. We like the customization features of the registration page, branding on the email invitations and the web room and the ability to play videos and chat with participants.Customer service is awesome. Very fast, friendly and knowledgeable. We have never had any issues that were not resolved immediately
Waste of money and time. Customer Service is non existent and I have yet to have any class without problems. Most places would provide a little help they provide links that do not help and don't even follow-up to see if it is working. With close to 50 classes I have never had more than a five minutes of time where everyone can hear and see.They once claimed it could be my internet but that is false because I use other platforms daily, along with others, and NEVER have an issue. I made the mistake of getting a plan because this is not complicated and thought they could trouble shoot. They can't and I am angry and sad. I opened this account to do some free things for some of my kids in China.
I used ClickMeeting for a long time (over 20 times over the years) for teaching and marketing. I used to recommend them to friends and colleagues… But I won't anymore, because I don't trust them.Here's why:Dishonest cancel policies:- When you cancel payment for your account, they terminate it right away, even if you've just paid for the whole month. This means you have to cancel JUST BEFORE your account is set to renew.- …but if you forget to cancel in time, then they won't give you a refund.- When you cancel, you have to go through FOUR confirmation screens to cancel.Sometimes confusing UI:- It's not always clear to the viewer that they cannot see me sharing my screen (when they're on mobile.)- As a presenter, you can toggle between screen sharing and other presentations mode (e.g. slides), but it's not always clear what your viewers are currently seeing, leading to confusion.Some users experienced connection issues… though to be fair it's not clear on whose side the connection issue was (theirs? ClickMeeting? Seemed to be fine for most users, but those experiencing issues were the most vocal.)Hard to get an invoice:- After 20 min with support, I'm still waiting for an invoice for a terminated account… (support would tell me to log in or reset password for my terminated account, but it just doesn't work.)Price and alternatives:- They're much more expensive than the competition (€199 for 250 participants, while join.me is just €17!) I used to be fine with paying when there was less competition and less hassle.- Next time, I'll try Zoom or join.meFYI, they used to be better before they got acquired by a new company (back in 2016 they would refund a late cancellation and used a different system for invoices… can still download my 2016 invoices, but I'm still waiting for a 2019 invoice!)Upset, disappointed, and staying away from them.
