I had an extremely disappointing experience with the shipping service associated with my recent order. As a regular customer, I have never encountered delivery issues in Colombia, and this was the first time I faced a problem—specifically because the shipping service was different from the usual one.
They claimed they couldn’t locate my address in Colombia, and instead of reaching out for clarification, they simply left. Typically, delivery personnel will call to request further directions or a location pin, but in this instance, there was no effort made.
I reached out to the shipping service for assistance, but they only suggested that I change my address to one in a nearby town. I don’t understand why I should have to alter my address when I’ve never faced this issue before. It felt as though they were pressuring me regarding the package, implying that if I wanted it, I had no option but to change my address.
This situation is unacceptable. Not only are they harming their own reputation, but they are also jeopardizing my relationship with the platform as a customer. If the platform continues to use this shipping service, I would seriously think twice about making future purchases.
I had a very frustrating experience with Coordinadora as a shipping company associated with Amazon. As an Amazon customer, I have never had delivery problems in Colombia, and this was the first time I experienced an issue—specifically because the shipping company was Coordinadora instead of the one usually used. They claimed they could not find my address in Colombia, and instead of calling me for instructions, they simply left. Normally, delivery personnel call to ask for further directions or a location pin, but in this case, they did not make any effort.I contacted Coordinadora to find a solution, but they only told me to change my address to one in the town. I do not understand why I should have to change my address when I have never had this problem before. It felt as if they were threatening me with the package, implying that if I wanted to receive it, I had no choice but to change the address. This situation is unacceptable. Not only are they damaging their own reputation, but they are also affecting my relationship with Amazon as a customer. If Amazon continues to use Coordinadora I would seriously reconsider purchasing from Amazon again.
I did my first shipment using this logistic service. I live in Los Angeles; California and I have a friend who lives in Colombia. Basically, I created a free account (it's a Spanish website. There's no English option unfortunately) at COORDINADORA USA to have a locker in Miami. You will get a locker # and you will post this # next to your name when shipping from your home address to Miami. I shipped my stuff with USPS to COORDINADORA USA in Miami and it took 4 days to arrive. COORDINADORA will check inside the box to make sure no illegal items be shipped to Colombia due to customs restrictions. My shipment contained 15 items in one box and COORDINADORA will ask the value for each item. If it's more than $200 USD then extra fees will apply. COORDINADORA will allow you select which items you want to ship to Colombia and then you will get an invoice. I selected all my items to ship at once. I shipped my package with USPS from LA to Miami and it took 4 days total. Then from Miami to Cali Colombia was 4 days in total as well. You will get a tracking number from COORDINADORA and you can check this from your account at their website. With the help of COORDINADORA, your shipment will be cleared from Colombian customs within 1-2 days instead of the 2 to 3 months delay when you ship directly with the regular U.S.A. mail services like USPS, UPS, or DHL. I know this from experience. Since my package was 24"x16"x6" with 11 pounds USPS charged me $55 from LA to Miami and then COORDINADORA charged me $45 from Miami to Cali COL. I think it's a reasonable price for a huge package. My friend did receive the package in good condition. I recommend this service to ship from USA to Colombia. They have a great communication as well. TIP: When creating an account, you will encounter to enter an ID# (that's for Colombian residents) but for us that live in USA just enter a random number because I did that and it worked. My friend in Colombia had no problems receiving the package considering it was under my name. You can always change the name in your account under the profile tab at their website. You can also change to a different Colombian address as well, if you're going to ship to multiple locations. I will be using this service often. Thanks, COORDINADORA USA.
Very shady behavior. I needed to ship some retainers I had left in Colombia to my house in the US. They asked me to fill out the normal forms, however the red flag was when they asked that I also provide my full social security number and if I didn't have one, to use another one from a friend or a family member. I have the exchange in emails where I called them out on this request. I asked them why they needed my social and that I didn't feel secure sending information over email. I also told them that them suggesting I use someone else's social security number on a form was considered fraud and it's illegal. They emailed back with a very bogus excuse saying that I didn't actually need to add my social since I live here, but that they couldn't send me the shipment anyway because it "just so happens that the FDA and Customs released new regulations a couple of days ago prohibiting medications and medical devices to be shipped into the US or Canada to anyone that isn't a tourist with a valid tourist visa". I called DHL to verify the information. DHL informed me that neither the FDA nor Customs had released new regulations in recent months. They also confirmed that they don't request social security numbers. They confirmed that it's up to Customs to request that information from me once I go pick up the package upon arrival to the USA and that any forwarder that requests that information from me is suspicious. Fedex confirmed the same information, and even if they did, they never request the full number. Only the last 4 digits, and it's never requested via email -- they prompt customers to fill out their online secured forms. When I asked Coordinadora to send me a link to the recent regulation announcement from the FDA and Customs, since all federal regulations MUST be posted for public knowledge, Coordinadora gave me the excuse that they can't disclose that information because it's internal and that Coordinadora agents only receive the alerts through their supervisors. Very Shady. Avoid this company. If you call DHL, Fedex, Avianca, Servientrega, they will direct you to where Customs regulations are posted, they HAVE to do this by law.
It used to be a good company for importing items from Amazon into Colombia. A while back they've started overcharging for packages using all kinds of tricks like putting a few pounds extra on every package. They also became extremely slow, a simple transit from Miami to Bogota can take a week or more. They aren't cheap, Amazon will charge you way less. Don't use them to send any type of documents to Colombia, I asked my office in the US to route through them so I could get my debit cards sent to my Colombian address and they opened the letters from the banks and took a peek at my debit card numbers, behavior which I think is criminal to say the least.
