Package arrived on schedule, which was great. However, the first package I opened was not cleaned. The mouths, eyes and innards were still all intact, which was not at all what I was expecting. In addition, four of the crabs were expected size, but two of them were considerably smaller. After cleaning, was able to make a tasty meal. Hopefully the other 18 will be cleaned and correctly sized. Disappointed in quality this time around.
Unfortunately, the shipment was in poor condition upon delivery. The cardboard box was wet and the bottom was almost out. Once opened I found that the the Styrofoam container was smashed open, three of the gel packs had been punctured and leaked, and the remaining gel packs were nearly exhausted. As a result, the crabs arrived at a temperature well above what I’d consider safe — more than room temperature — which I assume is due to the package being in the back of a UPS truck from around 8:30 AM to nearly 5 PM, in outdoor temperatures nearing 95°F (likely hotter inside the truck).Let me be clear — this is in no way a reflection on your company or the quality of your product. The crabs themselves looked amazing and were impressively sized. My concern lies strictly with the shipping conditions and the handling by the carrier. I’m just not fully comfortable consuming seafood that arrived already warm, for safety reasons.I’m hopeful there may be some form of insurance or protection on your shipments, as I hate to even raise a complaint. I truly appreciate your hard work and commitment to quality and absolutely plan to order from you again in the future — hopefully under better circumstances.
