Kier Gatungay is a total rockstar! I needed to book a one-way trip, which has a lot of steps. He was thorough in his explanations of the process, knowledgeable about the RV and answered all my questions, and ultimately got me the best rate possible for my trip. It's rare to have such a positive experience with phone customer service. I'd recommend Cruise America on the strength of this experience alone.
This is our 6th time booking a trip with Cruise America. We have spent a lot of money with Cruise America over the years and I was excited to take advantage of the Black Friday sale. However I am disappointed in the result. Although there was a sale, we are paying more this year than we paid last year. All of the fees and costs went up and it is a good thing there was a Black Friday sale or we would not be able to pay the extra costs this year. Over the years I have continuously promoted CA to friends and family and strangers along the path of our trip. In conclusion, it is good that there was a sale but future trips probably may not be possible as the prices rise with surrounding costs.
We reserved an RV through Cruise America specifically because we needed running water and a working bathroom to travel from NJ to Florida with our two young children (one autistic) and our dogs. We confirmed the reservation, drove over an hour to pick it up the day before Thanksgiving, only to be told the RV had been winterized—meaning no water and no bathroom at all.The only “notice” was a voicemail left the day before with no text, no email, no follow-up, and nothing indicating we needed to take urgent action. Had we received proper communication, we never would have driven all the way there, rearranged our travel plans, or booked non-refundable campgrounds based on a vehicle we couldn’t use.The staff at pickup simply told us there was “nothing they could do.” We were forced to decline the RV because it did not meet the basic advertised use, and now our entire trip has been derailed — including money lost on prepaid campgrounds and a fully scheduled travel plan that depended on this RV.This is not a minor inconvenience. This is a company failing to provide the product as reserved, offering no reasonable solution, and leaving a family with special-needs children scrambling the day before a major holiday.Cruise America needs to take responsibility, refund all charges, and reimburse customers when their operational failures cause real financial loss and hardship. Our experience was egregious, stressful, and completely avoidable had they communicated properly.
