Terrible customer service, and unexpected lock outs almost caused me to violate probation and resulted in paying extra for outside testing and charged me for the non usage and ruined two weekends because of the stress. The device also can’t work under 62F , is very sensitive with facial recognition that worked about 50/50 of the time and the most annoying noises and constant beeps. I swear to god I need anti seizure medication after using this POS for 8 months .
Called in and the guy I spoke to sounded insufferable as he read his script as he boasted about the companies trustpilot reviews. The guy was getting aggressively pushy and sounded like he was running out of breath asking for my credit card information to schedule an appointment. Each time I told him I was calling for a quote on the monthly/biweekly pay, he got angrier. When I asked for the quote on the surrounding shops for installation, he placed me on a brief hold (understandable) in which he angrily said only 1 shop picked up for a quote. Once he told me the quote, he hung up on me instantly
I had a very bad experience with Lifsavor/Guardian Interlock services. I called Smart Start and spoke with Itzel. She was very professional and polite. Not at all at Guardian. She went over the program in detail and answered all my questions in detail. It was very uplifting to talk with a positive sales rep after the degrading respect I received from the Guardian reps. Thank you so much for making this negative a positive for me! Tim
Erica was efficient, took the effort to call the installer and get me in sooner than normal and gave me some other options that I wanted without pushback. She called literally five seconds after I selected the "Callback" option in the automated telephone system. Great experience overall!

There's no clip to hang the device so I ha e to dangle it over my steering wheel. Which causes 8t to hy knees.
Also the device makes my blow a second and third time within the first 10-15 minutes. Farr excessive and dangerous to do while in the middle of driving on a busy interstate.
Bad experience equipment is equipment used and you have to pay and it’s no work properly and they look for a reason to charge you more money. I’m supposed to pay $36 with taxes already and now I’m paying 39+. So far I’m have a bad experience.

Generally, it works well most of the time. However, this is my second occurrence of a lockout displaying: VIOLLOCK. The first incident happened about a month ago, and I’ve been sober for five months, so I shouldn't be failing any tests. I had to call in to receive a code, which cost $70, and then go to get it fixed. Now, just a month later, I unexpectedly receive the same lockout message, but it says ViolLock04Day. I’m unsure what I’m doing wrong, as I haven’t failed any tests or tampered with the system. I’m frustrated with the ongoing costs, but if support can assist with this issue, I’d appreciate it; otherwise, it generally works great.
My experience with this service has been very frustrating. I've had two different IID devices installed at separate times, and I can confidently say this service is much worse than the previous one. The only slight positive is that the device is smaller and works somewhat better than the last one. Initially, the installer for my first car failed to connect the 'modem' cable, which tracks location. This led to complications during calibration, requiring override authorization and resulting in lengthy waits. Although the calibration shop managed to arrange a solution for future calibrations, this changed when I switched to a newer car. The service is also incredibly hard to contact; I often wait over 30 minutes just to speak with someone who lacks knowledge. Additionally, the installation was marked for a camera, which my state doesn't require, causing further issues. They have a strict policy regarding car problems; when my battery died, I received a violation after jumping it. I was informed that clearing the violation incurs an $80 fee, despite the circumstances. After transferring the device to my new car, I'm still facing the modem issue and need an override authorization for calibrations. The shop advised me to call ahead for a switch, which Smart Start would cover, but I don't understand why this wasn't handled during the transfer. I have a service appointment this week, and I dread another frustrating experience. I genuinely wish I had chosen a different IID service, and if you're considering this one, I suggest you explore other options.
