These guys are appalling, first they charge you £24 do do eligibility checks (rubbish). then they say they can unlock it and charge another £38. They then come back and say they can't actually do it and will give you a credit note for the £38 (despite consumer law stating you do not need to accept a credit note, they are still trying to argue it. I have been in conversation for the last 4 hrs trying to get my money back and you get nothing back from them but scripted garbage
Direct unlocks is a scam they bait and switch you with a low price then say it’s just an eligibility check. They then say process 50% completed waiting on payment The payment is extremely high.So they just screw their customersNo refund on the”eligibility check so I’m sure they screw lots of people out of $24.95
Be warned, Directunlocks is a Scam! They ask for a second payment of $50 on top of the initial $30 to actually send you the unlock code. The code they sent me didn't work and they won't refund me. Subsequent web research tells me my Verizon pixel 6a is not unlockable, which is their business to know since they charged me $30 to verify my imei was unlockable. Edit: Their customer service is an AI called Anna that acts compassionately and politely tells you that you will never get your refund. Over and over again. I went back though the page where they take your first payment and it clearly says you're buying an unlock code, not a "verification". I stand by my review, don't give these scammers your money. Hopefully Visa will help with my chargeback request. Edit 2: I initiated a charge back with Visa and cancelled my credit card. Directunlocks tried to charge my card $46 for the chargeback attempt, since they were unable to automatically debit my card anymore they are threatening to blacklist my device.
DirectUnlocks charged me for a service that was never delivered. After paying, I received no real unlock, only repeated excuses and attempts to charge me more money. When I tried to resolve the issue, their responses were repetitive, unhelpful, and clearly designed to delay until it was too late to dispute the charge. My phone is not stolen, not under a payment plan, and has no outstanding balance — yet they still refused to unlock it or issue a refund. This company hides behind misleading promises and continues to charge unsuspecting victims.I consider this a scam. I will be pursuing legal action and reporting this to consumer protection agencies, as well as warning others through every channel available. Do NOT trust this website.
Absolute scam, it did not work. Initial charge of £11.99 is followed by a second charge of £34.The 30 minute support response is a lie, 24 hours later I had a meaningless response. No further response followed. The reviews on their website designed to look like trustpilot but isn’t, probably also a lie. EE confirmed they did not succeed in unlocking. Update, now they are blackmailing me to pay a 3rd extra fee even after being unsuccessful. They are threatening to have my device blacklisted. Reported to trading standards.
