Refused Refund After Failed Unlock — Bait & Switch WarningI placed an order with DirectUnlocks on August 2, 2025 for an iPhone 16 Plus (AT&T USA). After paying $24.99 for an “Eligibility Check”, they asked for another $68 to proceed with the unlocking, yet never delivered the unlock. When I requested a refund, instead of returning my money, they issued a “credit note”—a store credit I never asked for and can’t use elsewhere. This isn’t an isolated incident. Multiple users have experienced the same:“Direct Unlocks is a scam… When I asked for my money back, they refused as refunds are not their policy.”On BBB, one user says:“They charged $28.99 initially… then $50.00. When it couldn’t unlock, they offered only credit, not cash refund.”Another Trustpilot reviewer shared:“I paid $88.99… unlock failed, refund denied, credit note is useless.”And from Sitejabber:“The phone remained locked. The company did not refund money for work not done.”This pattern—charge twice, fail to deliver, refuse a cash refund—is classic bait-and-switch. Their Refund Policy even explicitly states that Eligibility Checks are non-refundable and refunds for Android phones not prompting for a code are only in the form of credit notes .Bottom line: I’m out nearly $93 with nothing to show for it. If you’re considering this service, beware. Make sure you’re comfortable accepting store credit—and even then, there’s no guarantee they’ll complete the service.
FALSE ADVERTISING - scamers This company falsely advertises that it can unlock me 4g router huawai for £23! After submitting payment, their website spins and spins, then a button came up asking for another £26 . WTF? I went to several forums with thousands of posts indicating that some even had a third request for hundreds of dollars. This is absolutely SCAMERS
I paid $88.99 to DirectUnlocks to unlock my Samsung S24 Ultra and they FAILED.Instead of refunding my card, they issued a "credit note" that I never requested or accepted.RedotPay confirmed that the funds are still being held by DirectUnlocks and that they refuse to refund me.This company blocks emails and ignores refund requests.I will escalate this to Visa/Mastercard and consumer protection bodies.Order number: [tid_6NSjbPL77m/tid_VUCt5vvH34]DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!
On Thu 10 Jul 2025, at 09:40 UTC, I paid $20 to DirectUnlocks after providing my IMEI, as they claimed my phone would be unlocked right after payment. However, shortly after that—by 09:55 UTC—they demanded an additional £82.00 to “complete” the unlock process. Hoping for a resolution, I paid that amount too. They promised the phone would be unlocked within 20 days. After patiently waiting, I received an email today saying they couldn’t unlock my phone unless I paid yet another £133.00, and then it might be unlocked in another 3–4 days.👉 At this point: I’ve already paid over £100 Still, my phone is not unlocked Now they want more moneyThis seems like a classic bait-and-switch scam. They lure you in with a small fee and keep asking for more without delivering results.⚠️ I do NOT recommend DirectUnlocks. They keep raising the price and wasting your time. There’s no guarantee they’ll ever unlock your phone, even after paying everything they ask.
