I had used Drivalia in August for a trip, and my experience was really good. So I used them again at Manchester Airport for this recent trip. Rafa was polite friendly and extremely helpful when I arrived to collect my car and, because it was my second rental with Drivalia, he upgraded my car for free and signed me up for the loyalty program.When I returned the car, Ivan was thorough, courteous and took me straight to the airport after processing the return. Which he did extremely quickly.I received fantastic service. It was hassle free, start to finish!
Had a Luton van booked for a house move first thing Monday morning. Got a call at 3.30 Saturday afternoon stating no van was available and cancelled leaving me very much in trouble with only Saturday night and Sunday to sort an alternative for Monday very much adding to the stress of an already stressful occasion. Renter beware !!
Slow Refund after lengthy difficult complaint proceedures. Very difficult website navigation. No human contact without lengthy waits.It was impossible to get a result from this company. I was forced to raise a retail dispute via my credit card/ bank.I finally got a refund more than a month after I raised a complaint about mis selling and underhand tactics. My point now is: they sat on my money from Sept 6 to October 16. They got bank interest on that money. If they were to do this repeatedly across Europe ( a question not a claim) how much money would they make ? Easier than hiring cars!Drivalia just replied to this review asking me to contact them through their website. I did that six weeks ago, and got nowhere!!!! Frankly, a useless response. I hope this review shows themup for their lousy systems and complaint/ refund management.
We had an absolutely terrible experience with Drivalia Barcelona. We placed a €440 deposit and paid for the car rental in advance, including additional insurance. When we arrived, the staff at the Barcelona office (far from the airport, in the middle of nowhere) tried to pressure us into paying for even more unnecessary insurance.When we refused, they cancelled our booking on the spot, even though they said they wouldn’t charge us and would return the money. They never did. We ended up paying for a rental we never received.The person working there was extremely rude and unprofessional. He clearly tried to take advantage of us because we were traveling with two small children and in a hurry. We waited for over 3 hours in the heat with a baby and a 3-year-old, only to leave without a car — and we even missed a wedding because of this awful service.Do yourself a favor — avoid Drivalia Barcelona at all costs. They are dishonest, unhelpful, and operate with zero empathy for customers, especially families.Don’t bother to complain since it’s impossible to return the money with their scam system!!!
