Do not use - con, shame, ripoff?

Totally ripped off by this company - read the small print before you pay any money over to them, they appear cheap but when you pick up the car they tell you ( and other people in front if me in the queue) that their credit card is not working so you have to buy the very top level insurance which cost me 2-3 times the original price quoted for the car,I had to wait the best part of 2 hours to be served due to the staff member turning up to work over an hour late and when i asked the obnoxious staff member/ manager? (who i wont name) to cancel the car, his response was well u aint gonna git another hire car round ere n yose loose your car rental money n haves ta wait a month to get yours money back on the insurance init,It seemed to me they are on commission to rip off every customer.I have seeked legal advice and it would appear from their terms and conditions that i didn't need to take out the top level insurance so i was completely lied to and it was a scam which we will now be taking legal action against to recoup the loses.

Hassle-free service from Gil and the team

Great service from Gil and the team at Birmingham Airport. Great communication and they picked me up at the terminal. No hassle collecting or returning the car. Had to walk back to the airport on dropping off the car but it’s a short walk to the terminal (12 mins)

Disappointed

We pre booked our vehicle through booking.com. Our flight was delayed so late arriving at Heathrow and we were late arriving to pick up the rental car. They advised us that the car booked was no longer available and we would need to pay an additional 1200.00 pounds for a replacement. After some discussion we finally and reluctantly agreed to pay 400.00 pounds on top of what we paid already. We kind of came to terms with this as the car was bigger and a hybrid so saved on gas. Unfortunately however it broke down and we were told we would need to get to Heathrow again for another vehicle. This was a 6 hour round trip from where we were. I will be using a well known reputable company moving forward knowing what I know now. Reputable rental companies also have airport pick up and delivery which drivalia does not and you have to wait for buses to and from the airport. I learned my lesson I guess.

False Reviews

Adam is a terrible joke of a man, if the company checked his reviews with actual bookings I think they'd soon find out the reviews are all false! Check how many reviewers have only left 1 review. We used to hire from here every month but will never use the company while that scam merchant works there.

My advice is avoid this company

My advice is avoid this company, even if it involves additional cost. They are dysfunctional. No 2 people ever gave me the same information and the booking process was extremely stressful. They make mistake after mistake. I was in the uk for my mother's funeral and they could not have been less helpful or less efficient. I recieved one seemingly sincere letter of apology but when I reached out to the supposed writer of the letter she had no idea who i was and confessed that her "office" had issued the letter on her behalf. It soon became clear that the caring letter offering condolences about my mother's death and offering me any help i needed was a hollow and insincere letter generated by a faceless person (or AI), and was totally meaningless. On top of all this the car was faulty and when I pointed this out all contact stopped. I was sent a letter which was supposed to be on the end of a link but wasn't. Since pointing this out a month ago I have heard nothing. The only thing they managed to do efficiently was charge me a £55 penalty on top of a congestion charge I didn't realise I had incurred. These people are not interested in helping their customers, only in fleecing them, as I said avoid at all costs. The automated reply to this review is generic and meaningless, I have already attempted to communicate using "manage my booking" and agents promise the word but completely fail to follow up or execute their promises. These guys are experts at NOT ever helping anyone. AVOID.

Scamming & coercion

This was the worst car rental experience I have ever had. I felt cheated, tricked and manipulated out of a lot of money. Even one of the members of staff told me secretly that it was the worst company he’s worked for. I would urge you all to choose a different car rental company. I hope the guy who served/tricked me is ashamed of himself. Even if it costs you a little more up front, you will probably save money and stress overall!

Con artists!

I don't think they even deserve one star but had to click a star to give a review. Beware everyone. They are a dodgy car rental company. We booked one car but when we got there, the car wasn't there and they offered us another - supposedly bigger and better at no extra cost. The car had been side swiped on the passenger side and never repaired. They said that was noted. We had only driven 60miles when the rear offside tire exploded and ripped itself off the ream, on a major motorway. The car had no emergency contact or any phone number for us to call and being foreigners, we did not know who to contact. Luckily we had their office number in our email and they were still opened. We were lucky we are still alive from that horrific incident. Even the police officer who came to our rescue after it was reported by a motorist said she was expecting bodies on the road. We had to get the tire fixed and paid for a brand new tire to be put on, costing us over £350. When we returned the car, they said they'll refund us the money but 5 months and numerous emails later, we haven't seen a single penny. They kept sending us promises but they really had no intention of paying. That car was not fit for the road. Just warning everyone. They may look cheap on the website but they are not to be trusted. Don't understand how they are still in business. We've learnt our lesson.

Drivalia will make money from your mistakes

I rented a car from DRIVALIA. I had to pay a fine after driving through a restricted road, but that was no issue; nevertheless, DRIVALIA found a way to make money out of this:When they receive the fine, they pay the 50-pound fine and wait until 15 days have passed so they can charge the driver 100 pounds + Admin fees! instead of letting the driver pay the 50 pounds directly to the city council.Very unethical indeed....
