I rented a vehicle from OTOQ / Drive365 Car Rental in Greece, and it turned into one of the worst rental experiences I have ever had.
A security deposit was charged at pickup, which is normal. The car was returned on time, in proper condition, and without any damage. No issues were reported during the return process.
Despite this, my security deposit was never refunded.
I contacted the company repeatedly by email and phone. After initially avoiding clear answers, they stopped responding altogether. My calls were ignored, and my number was eventually blocked.
Blocking a customer who is simply requesting the return of their own money is unacceptable and speaks for itself.
Based on my experience, I strongly advise people not to rent from OTOQ / Drive365. There are many professional and reliable rental companies in Greece — this was not one of them.
The car was brand new with just few km, I chose a "Yaris cross hybrid" which was great choice due to low consumption 4.1lt /100km. There was great communication via watch up with the employee, and the guarantee was 600€ via credit card when other companies need 1.200€. Very fair and good choice.
In a nutshell, outstanding service.I booked an SUV for one week and was given an almost brand new model. The drive to and from the airport was swift. The dealer explained in detail all useful tech features i was not familiar with.The deposit was returned to me upon the return of the car with no delays.Most importantly Stelios, the agent who looked after me, was very efficient and went out of his way to provide a great service.
Recently hired a car from Tivat airport, Montenegro. Having read the reviews after booking, I was more than a little concerned but I have to say, the whole process was absolutely fine. The office is in a weird little back room behind some garages and not too easy to find but they sent a helpful whatsapp video of how to get there from the terminal. The man who handed over the keys was nice, spoke very good English and did not try to upsell insurance when I said I'd already purchased some through a third party. Also made sure that the deposit on my credit card was a temporary hold and not an actual charge, so that was fine. The car itself was a bit battered and made a few odd sounds but honestly, who cares. It cost us about €10 per day so I can hardly complain and it got us around for 10 days without issues. Upon return, there was nobody in the office so I had to send a video via whatsapp of the car and leave the keys inside it but got confirmation there and then that it was all ok and that my deposit hold would be returned to my credit card. Upon checking 10 minutes later, it had disappeared from my pending transactions entirely so seems to have been returned immediately. Overall, for the absolute bargain money, it was a surprisingly good experience.
Perfect rental, good communication during rental period, but it took a while (3 weeks) for the refund of €900 deposit to be returned. They did apologize for the inconvenience in a nice way though after asking. Would therefore recommend!
I wish I had seen these reviews before going to this extremely unprofessional car company that treated us like shit. WE ARE 3 MONTHS IN AND I STILL DO NOT HAVE MY EFFING MONEY!!! They keep giving the bs excuse of “I’ve sent this matter to accounting and waiting for them to send receipt”. Like wtf? A deposit done with a credit card, much better returned they the credit card. They are still in asking to provide an IBAN which is not the form of reterned payment should be. The And actually this was supposed to be an hold not a an actual transaction.Also, Closer to the end of the trip the window buttons did not work, they said it was my fault and had to pay $300+ euros. The buttons just stopped working!!! It’s not a user error when it’s mechanical.I want my money!!!! I swear I’m bringing in my lawyer. This is no joke. That’s a big amount of money and I’m not letting this case rest
I am very disappointed with this car rental company. It has been over a month since I returned the car, and I still haven’t received my refund. I have contacted them several times, but nothing has been resolved. This is unacceptable and very unprofessional. I would not recommend this company to anyone.
All went smooth ,nothing to complain ,brand new Peugeot 208 ,with 7000kms on the clock ,used my credit card and money were released after 25 days as indicated in the rental agreement. Our card was credit and we didnt have any issues at all but in any case you have the option to pay a bit more for full insurance and no need to worry about the money blockage .As i said,brand new cars which is the important in a car rental business.
