Self Service Tills.
I usually Love Dunelm and have bought from most departments over the years.
I hate, with a passion, self service tills. The two stores I have visited since these were introduced, have only 2 or 3 manned tills which slso deal with returns and other long winded transactions. The pleasure of shopping and chatting to the till operator at the end of a pleasant experience, has gone. I would rather queue and talk to a human than try to operate one of the self service tills, which we, as the cudtomer, are not trained or paid to do. In my mind, this is a big mistake and only operating for the company's benefit, not the customer's. I will visit less often in the future if the company insist on putting these inhuman machines in store. M&S here I come.

The bedding we wanted was not available in the shop so ordered for delivery to shop. The order said delivery would be Wednesday 18th February. When it didn't arrived we checked tracking and it had not been processed. We went onto chat and was told it could be 72 more hours.Another week later still not showing on tracking as processed. We tried to cancel but told we couldn't cancel as it is being processed?

The only contact we have had is to ask us “how did we do” I wouldn’t even give one star. No communication no updates no curtains! How do you think you have done? We ordered in January and have had no updates since.

The money arrived back in my account the next day ( not 3-5 working days) and Mohammed went over and above to find an exact replacement from the stores. Many thanks to Mohamed

I had such a lovely experience at Dunelm Taunton thanks to Alfie and Emma.
They were both incredibly helpful, pleasant, and professional from the moment they approached me. I couldn’t find what I was looking for on the shelf, but they were straight on it — knowledgeable, confident, and clearly knew exactly what they were doing.
They were also really engaging and friendly, which made the whole experience feel relaxed and genuinely positive rather than rushed or transactional.
Outstanding customer service from both of them — they’re a real credit to the store. Thank you Alfie and Emma! 🌟

Excellent service from my choice of curtain material and lining, to confirming my measurements of French doors and area were correct. Order was placed and payment directions given along with delivery date. The curtains were delivered on the date given, and within a couple of days hanging up giving time for folds to drop they look as lovely as I had hoped for. Thank you Dunelm (and Ruth and Raj in the Midlands, apologies if handwriting misread)

Absolutely disgraceful customer service whilst trying to find out why my made to measure curtains were 5 weeks late with no communication or refund from Dunelm. Once they got to the bottom of it after 4 weeks of chasing by me rather than making the order a priority they cancelled the order and said I had to reorder when I hadn't even received a refund. Use a local company who may care about there customers.
Still not received the credit or price match as promised due to delay and fabric now at a higher price!

I've used Dunelm several times, and each time I've been satisfied with the service. Only once has a product let me down with poor quality; the blackout curtains only lasted just over 2 years before the backing started to break down, I suspect because they were in a south-facing window in full sun.
I would definitely use them again, I'd just avoid blackout curtains.
