Review Time
I used to love El Ganso with their fantastic tailoring, fabrics and European manufacturing. I bought many clothes from them. Sadly they are just another brand importing poor facsimiles from China and Bangladesh. I will sadly not be buying again.Seems like their new owner had no respect for their purchase.
The last years i was a big fan of El Ganso... all clothes had been made in Europe, firstly in Spain and Portugal produced. Also the customer service was excellent... Then last year visiting a shop in Valencia the shock: Clothes made in Bangladesh. I wrote to the customer service, dissapointed about changing their politics... no reaction... It's really sad, that for this formerly commendable top brand just the yield of returns count, after the take over from a big french luxury concern... Good by El Ganso!
El Ganso used to be my favorite men's store in the world. The style was first class, the quality was excellent and the price was right. All the clothes were made in Europe and the materials, the stitching and the detailing were excellent. Recently, El Ganso shifted all of their manufacturing to China. The decline in quality is incredible... you can tell simply by looking at the clothes that they are cheaper and less durable. Sadly, I doubt I will ever go into another El Ganso after my most recent visit. Once again the pursuit of coin at all cost has destroyed a once great brand.
Unfortunately the boots I ordered were far too big. Foolishly I did not try them on in the shop as they were an online order. I returned them on the 8th January and after many, many phone calls I have only just received a refund and the date is 30th January. Be very careful ordering online, they do not have the customer service or sound business ethics. I will never purchase from them again.
I like the clothes, sizing can be a bit 'hit and miss', but the quality is good and not badly priced.However, the customer service is abysmal...and the sad irony is...they really don't care.Recently bought a pair of size 6 desert boots for the lady in my life, suggested to be UK 6. Reality...not even close, more like a generous UK 4. Requested a swap for another item by email. No response to two requests...only when pursuing web chat after 7 days did a response miraculously come back - 'replacement item now out of stock'. Initially no indication that I had sent two emails to them. Now have to pay to for a return to Spain at £7.00 plus. El Ganso customer response...basically, 'your problem'. Unless you have an El Ganso branch on your doorstep for trying-on/returns etc., steer well clear, dodgy sizing, lazy, indifferent customer service. They just don't care!Coincidentally, 'El Ganso' means 'The Goose'. After putting nearly £1200 into this company's products over the last 12 months...I do feel truly 'goosed'. Thanks El Ganso...you've just lost a customer for life.
Order placed Wednesday and delivered from Madrid with UPS to Copenhagen, Denmark.
All clothing packed in separate protective bags, very nice touch.
I also received a protective cover for the jacket and a hanger - also excellent extra service.
Unfortunately the jacket was too tight, so I mailed the El Ganso Carnaby Street store and asked if they had an XL in stock and if they could take it aside for me to pick up in two weeks.
Within an hour I received a reply, and they had taken the jacket aside for me to pick up.
World class service and excellent quality apparel with a modern and peppy twist!
High quality, bold and unique menswear selection - winter coats in particular. Excellent detailing and made in Portgual, not somewhere in Asia!
Delivered internationally (Denmark) within a few days, well-packaged and included a hanger and protective cover.
I made a mistake on the shipping address, but contacted their customer service department who replied within a few minutes amending the details.
Highly recommended.
