very poor customer service! trying to de-fraud money for fuel even tho i have photo evidence of the full tank and the mileage also doesnt make sense in return as its lower than my photo shows. made a complaint, escualted it and still trying to charge me £46 tabk was brimmed couldnt fit another drop in! tried to blame a faulty fuel guage and telemetrics even tho i have proof of it being full and also fuel reciepts! customer service and managers refused to clear the invoice! avoid this company at all costs
AVOID AT ALL COSTS! NEVER OPEN NEVER ANSWER THE PHONE I understand these are a budget car rental but the lack of customer service makes it feel like it's not even an established business RUDE telephone staff ZERO business etticate Called the branch over 20 times and when you ring for 21 mins the phone just cuts off!! We had to call EUROPCAR head office to complain an they can't even get through to the branch. BOOKED US A RENTAL THEN GAVE THE RENTAL SOMEONE ELSE THEN PROMISED TO CALL BACK BUT DIDNT STILL AWAITING A CALL BUT DOUBT IT WILL HAPPEN. Very inexperienced what would seem like teenagers as the staff that you do eventually communicate with as they are stroppy, rude and have no knowledge on their job description ABSOLUTE FARSE OF A COMPANY I DOUBT THEY ARE EVEN A REGISTERED COMPANY AS THEY DO NOT OPERATE LIKE ONE If it's a car rental with a quality serv9ce you need AVOID AVOID AVOID EUROPCAR AT ALL COSTS!!!!
Very competitive price through Keddy, their subsidiary. They replied to my emails regarding collecting the vehicle and payment issues.However the also supplied me a telephone number which didn't work out of hours and did not enable me to reach the Stansted office in time and to alert them as to my being late (hence the 4* review).But in their favour, they were there waiting for me (thank you R Bodgan!) and waived the late fee and also provided me with a much upgraded vehicle. They also were fine with me returning my vehicle earlier.So a decent experience with gratitude or waiting for me and waiving the late fee etc, but the lack of contact number for the rental office was a real turn-off.
Very good car hire experience from the Gloucester (Hempsted Lane branch). Helpful staff. Minimal hassle to hire and helped through initial car inspection check. Upon car return no fuss car inspection and OKed. Highly recommended
If I could put NO stars I would! How the hell is this company still in business when it’s frauding customers every single day!! I’m personally going to contact the motor ombudsman and let them know what this business is doing but please PLEASE STAY WELL away!! We booked a car for a week they didn’t have the car we booked so gave us a cheaper worse model even though there supposed to be like for like, we paid nearly treble what the car they gave us was actually worth and now point blank refusing to give us the money back or the difference between the cars nearly £350 they have scammed from us!! Clearly states in the T&C’s you will get a refund or the difference please be aware You DONT!! When we went in there was 3 bludy 3 people in there complaining about the same thing!!! It’s absolutely unreal. I will post all over social media also to avoid this place like the plague!
Update: it is funny how quickly you get a reaction when you make a public complaint compared to zero response to several e-mails and filled forms like the one proposed in the reaction of Europcar. I will try once again but have no issues of getting a reply or solution from Europcar.---I booked the car through Easyjet and (in short) this happened at the Europacar desk in Gatwick:- When picking up the car the person behind the desk tried to upsell. She had 2 keys, one of the MG which would be our car and another key of a car which would have navigation and heated seats. Normally for 100 pound extra, but now only for 40. We declined this and the MG had navigation and heated seats anyway. Seems like very dodgy practice. - I had to sign a document, I asked what is was for,, the person said I was signing for the car not having any damage. She even joked it felt like “siding your life away”. The car didn’t have any damage but it seems she lied about what I was signing. - After that I had to swipe my card. I asked if this was for the deposit. She said, yes this is for deposit, this again seems like a blatend lie as my creditcard was charged anyway after returning the car.Getting a reply from the client service department is a real nightmare. I have send about 6 e-mails (one every week) to get a reply of 2 sentences by someone who clearly didn't care to read buy e-mails or check my case. Renting with Europcar has been an absolute disaster and I wil never do so again. I have bookked many cars with other rental companies all around the world and I never had any problems. Of course I wouldn't recommend anybody to book with Europcar.
Rip off!!!!Got cheap car rental through Booking.com for Europcar. Even paid an additional amount on the booking for full insurance for a 7 day hire.Arrived at Fuerteventura airport and was told that the full insurance wasn’t any good as it was taken through a third party. They sold me the full insurance for €285 on top of what I had already paid!!!!! This ensured that any damage would be waived.Picked up the car and noticed a few marks on it - I wasnt bothered as I had full cover.Returned the car after 7 days, and with no damage to it. They scoured the car and told me I’d damaged the rear of the car (I hadn’t). Luckily I’d taken out their rip off insurance, so I could walk away worry free.Can’t help but feel there’s some sort of scam going on here.Stay away!!!!!
DO NOT USE. I WASNT TOLD I NEEDED MY DRIVING LICENCE (they have photos of it) SO I WAS ANNOYED AND STORMED OUT. BECAUSE THE DOOR SLAMMED HE CAME OUT AND SHOUTED THAT HE WILL CANCEL MY BOOKING.SO ON MOVING DAY IM LEFT £70 OUT OF POCKET AND NO VAN.RUDE. DO NOT USE.Edit: Received a refund 3 days later.
