I had Evergen Solar install solar panels and batteries just a week ago. Though there had been plenty of clear sky and light the batteries never went beyond 20% and then seemed to send electricity to the grid. I called Evergen Solar and emailed screen shots. There response was that all was fully functional and gave advice on electric usage! One of the installers came back to install a panel and on checking the app agreed something was wrong. Evergen would not accept any fault and emailed a threatening response regarding legal action and costs which I would incur. If you are considering a solar installation avoid Evergen Solar at all costs!!
If you are thinking of having solar panels don't touch Evergen, I have ten panels on my roof and the inverter and battery in my loft but none are connected because it should not be placed in the loft and is a fire risk. They turned up at 17.00 to fit the panels and did so in the pitch dark ending at 20.10. I am left with a lot of loose roof panels and badly fitted panels. The scaffolding is not even a legal width to work from.I suspended work immediately because of the unprofessional fit and then questioned why they were fitting in the loft, when PAS63100 2024, 6.5.5f clearly states that storage batteries should not be installed in lofts.While not strictly illegal, a new British Standard (PAS 63100:2024) and general guidance from experts advise against installing batteries in lofts or other voids, or near escape routes. This is due to potential issues with temperature fluctuations, ventilation, structural support, maintenance access, and the safety of firefighters in an emergency. Some insurers might be hesitant to cover systems in these locations unless very specific, certified safeguards are in place.Installing a battery and inverter in the loft can affect your home insurance, and you must inform your insurance provider about the installation. Failing to do so could invalidate your policy and lead to a claim being denied in the event of a fire or other damage. Thank heavens I have legal cover and suspended work.I cannot get my deposit refunded or get them to remove the scaffolding or the equipment. Discounting an abusive email, Evergen do not reply to anything and are next to impossible to contact after you have paid.Evergen is in breach of contract so I have been forced to start legal action to collect the debt and have the equipment removed from my property. Best advice, get quotes from known companies like Octopus who, it turns out, are a lot cheaper.
