Review Time
It is hectic having to do anything on a Monday morning. However, the staff at the Douglas boulevard location made it a great experience. All of the gentleman were polite and efficient. Specifically, Dale gave great recommendations for my vehicle and was quick with the matter.
I have been an Express Oil customer for years. So, please know this review is not written out of spite. But I have to warn people to always LAY EYES ON YOUR DIP STICKS! Over the years I built trust with this company because I have never had a reason to doubt their work. I went for my oil change at the Sanderson location in Huntsville, AL. Everything went as usual but they seemed to finish quicker than usual. I wasn't watching every move they made because I trust they are doing their job. #1 mistake he did not ask me to crank my car and rev the engine for a few seconds. #2 He did not show me my dipstick. If he had, we could have avoided #3.. As I was exiting the bay, I saw my red oil light was on. I immediately circled the building and got back in line. The technician recognized me and came to ask what was going on. I explained, and he immediately said, yeah that was on earlier when you cranked up ... He saw it when I cranked up and failed to bring it to my attention and let me exit the bay!! He then proceeded to recheck my oil and said it was a quart low and asked me to pull back into the bay and have them "top it off". However when this other technician checked the oil, he was perplexed because IT WAS EMPTY. They had drained all my oil and did NOT replace it, yet charged me for it and let me LEAVE. Even after me witnessing them check and recheck and talk amongst themselves, when he came to my window to explain- I said "he forgot to put the oil back in it didn't he?" His reply was, "nah.. it just didn't have enough.. but we're gonna top it off for you right quick". Bold face lied to my face. That "top off" ended up being 5.5 quarts, which ironically, is exactly how much oil my car takes. Astonishing!... The original technician tried to apologize saying his "system" faulted and told him to put less in it than what was required. Well, if your system told you my car needed nothing, I would assume you need a new system, friend. (Along with a better poker face and basket of lies). After being gaslit and stuck in 100 degree weather while they got their life together, he at least told me they were gracious enough to not charge me again for that "extra" oil.... Wow. I am so humbled. I am more humbled that God let me see that light before I got up on the main road in that 5pm traffic and locked my motor and got myself ran over... Please be mindful of mistakes! Ask the questions if you don't trust something. I'm not faulting the entire crew or company as a whole. I understand mistakes happen, but taking ownership of them makes a lot better impression than risking someone's life and trying to put the blame on a computer rather than admission of fault.
Isaac and Brey were so nice and helpful. They explained everything thoroughly and was very helpful. Assured me that can take care of me and they sure did! This is the second time Isaac has helped me and while waiting for my oil to be changed, both times, he has made great conversation and even made me laugh a few times. Very sweet gentleman who work here and I highly recommend coming here to get your oil changed!
