Review Time
I've been using fast cover for many years now I have not had any negative things to say about them. Over the years I've only made 2 claims and they were processed within a timely matter. hopefully we can all travel again soon and I'm sure I will use their services then
WORST INSURANCE COMPANY!!! I'm writing my first ever negative review and if I would give this scummy company 0 stars if I could. I submitted my claim and got a follow up email saying they would respond within 10 business days, at the end of that deadline fast cover requested more information (most of which had already been provided). After waiting more then 2 months from when I first submitted the claim I got back a negative outcome. My flight was cancelled whilst I was in Canada early this year due to a reduction in service (probably the most common reason for flight cancellation). You would think that this should surely be covered by comprehensive travel insurance especially when paying $700 for a 2 month trip. THINK AGAIN!!!! They advertise to cover up to $50000 in trip disruption expenses and unlimited for trip cancellation expenses but make sure you read the fine print as this only if your flight has been cancelled because of hijacking, riot, strike or natural disaster. It's almost laughable because the chances of any of the above happening are extremely unlikely. It's crazy to think that financially we would have been better to not even have insurance at all. I also would've saved myself one HUGE HEADACHE, a lot of stress and many hours in phone calls and emails. Extremely disappointed with this service and will be sure to share my story and thoughts with as many people as I can.
Honestly I suppose if you choose cost over quality this is what you get. I have had 2 maybe 3 emails from fast over confirmed details and then the next thing you made out to feel like a criminal and referred to at her agencies. Will never choose this company or ever recommend them to anyone. Have never felt so criminalised in my life before just for claiming insurance that I paid for.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! I had a policy with full unlimited medical coverage and injured myself whilst on a trip to the US. I needed surgery to fix a broken bone but fast cover wouldn't cover it because it was too expensive. They left me waiting in hospital for several hours in agony while I waited for a response from them. They said unless the injury is life threatening they do not cover medical expenses! They then said they would try to find a cheaper hospital to do the surgery but would take at least 24 hours till they could get prices at different hospitals. I was in a regional area 3 hours from any other hospital I was by myself and had no one to help me out or any way of travelling to a different hospital so had no choice but to fly home. They were terrible to deal with and were so slow at responding. I was on a plane halfway home before they even tried to arrange an upgrade for my flight. Absolutely hopeless!
**Attention, please read before you take out a cover so you're aware**I am someone that has gone through the claim process for a very common claim, generally.I had taken out a Comprehensive Policy (many times before) however, due to my misreadings I, unfortunately, fell into the trap of reading the positive reviews and having never gone through a claim. After my experience I can now say that I will never buy a Fast Cover insurance again, as under their Trip Cancellation/Trip Delay section, they DO NOT cover "For Delays or reschedule by a bus line, airline, shipping line or rail authority unless it is due to a strike, riot, hijack, civil protest, severe weather or natural disaster." I had contacted emergency services to ask for advice and they said given the circumstances, I should submit a claim with a letter from the airline confirming the cancellation and inability from the airline to get me on another flight for another 5 days. When I had submitted my claim upon my return I was then told, that they wouldn't cover it, only when I said I was advised otherwise (provided proof) did they then do so.This is a very general and common occurrence with airlines and I was deeply disappointed to find out that when my flights were cancelled by the airline with no rebooking for another 5 days I was left with no choice but to utilise my insurance and with the added stress. Added to that, my partner was using his default credit card insurance and was covered with no problems. A credit blanket insurance covered such a common occurrence vs the Fast Cover paid for Comprehensive Insurance. Shocking, really.I have learned my lesson and will not be repurchasing the Fast Cover insurances ever again nor recommending it to anyone anymore. This is such a common occurrence that I would hope my insurance like MANY OTHERS do actually cover and give me peace of mind while overseas. I was always so focused on reading the medical side of insurances that I missed this and thought it was common practice.I warn everyone that wants peace of mind to use another insurance company unless you are willing to accept that you are not covered.TLDR: Fast Cover do not cover for Trip Cancellations or Delays by an airline (a very common occurrence) even with an exceptional circumstances being that airlines could not get me on another flight for another 5 days whereas default credit card insurances do cover, there are better insurance covers out there. Be warned.*pro tip- also worth it to pay a little more to remove excess as that helps when it comes to these claim matters.
I found your website easy to use to arrange a new policy. I travel a lot and have done so since 1980 always with insurance cover. I have visited many countries without any problems. As I have never made a claim almost 40 years I would like some recognition as with car insurance, in the form of a discount
CROOKS.My Australian roommate (2 Year Visa) got injured playing casual baseball, the batter swung and hit the ball and unfortunately it went straight for her and smashed up her hand. It dislocated her thumb and broke a piece of the bone connection. She went to emergency and they said she needed to have surgery asap. They booked the surgery within a weeks time as necessary. FastCover was unreliable and hard to get hold of, they said one thing over the phone and another through email. They are not covering the surgery costs, telling her to fly back home, and they will not be covering the flight costs either. WHAT THE HELL IS THE POINT OF INSURANCE THEN?!?!?!?! This company is a joke and I will make sure it is known to everyone that they should seek another company for insurance purposes.
I got very sick in Asia and I feel very fortunate to have had my Policy with Fast Cover. Their communication with the medial teams was incredible and very easy to discuss the details for the treatments and other operational decisions. I have never had to claim insurance before, but all my focus and attention was towards my health while the insurance teams worked to ensure the best treatment was occuring.
I’ll try and keep this straight forward; was on holiday on a remote island of the Phillipines. Had a motorcycle accident and hurt myself pretty bad.1st thoughts - I’ve got travel insurance, surely this is one of those instances where they’ll step up and make it count. I was very wrong. The island I was on had very limited wifi as its means for communication. I had to resort to skype to call Fast cover to report incident.I wanted fast cover to organise to fly me back to Australia ASAP. I had severe muscular trauma. Instead, I got what I expected from any mediocre travel insurance company. Excuses and neglect and frustration.Losing your luggage is unpleasant and you hope your travel insurance will do the right thing without hassle to resolve the situation, but hurting yourself very badly in a country that struggles with English and is pretty restricted with regards to medical care, you pray it’s the one time your travel insurance will put the B.S aside and actually help you accomodate your condition.Fast cover failed miserably. Would another travel insurance company do it differently? Perhaps. But what’s definite is Fast Cover will leave You stranded! Not worth it whatsoever.Reply follow up: Absolutely ridiculous. And I would appreciate you resist from posting fabrications also.It was clearly explained to you my circumstances whilst I was there and moreover, you don’t get to decide if it would be adequate for me to fly or not. If I’m in a position to verbally discuss matters with you and even attend the hospital, then I’d clearly be in a position to travel out from there. This is one of many excuses you’re peddling to justify your ridiculously poor service.Additionally, with regards to my “claim”, it was explained to you umpteen times already there was no rental agreement. WE WERE ON A REMOTE ISLAND. We were only required to leave our identification with the entity and collect it once we returned the motorcycle. The back and forth emails clearly depict this was explained to you and yet, you continue to use this as yet another excuse to finalise claim.I’m very easily contactable via my mobile phone seeing that I’ve been back in the country now for weeks. So again, enough with the fallacies.I want all readers to understand the position they’ll be put in if they opt to use Fast Cover. I’d take my chances with another more professional, helpful travel insurer.
